Works well on country ham as this is fairly heavy but the handle can get hot.

Great quality, perfect fit!
This is a solid, quality made product. It is the perfect fit for my 10-in wrought iron frying pan. The handle is a large and smoothly finished piece of wood that's a good grip for your hands and stays cool to the touch. The press is an evenly distributed heavy weight that keeps your bacon, sausage or whatever you're pressing flat in the pan. It has nice deep channels on the bottom which helps the grease flow around the pan. This is important to keep your food being pressed from drying out. I applied a heavy coat of oil when it first arrived and it was good to go with no sticking. It's easy to wipe off and keep clean. I've used several different types of bacon presses and this is definitely a quality product. I highly recommend it.
