We’ve had our Dyson Anima Vacuum DC25 for almost 11 years. It still acts as if it was new. We keep it clean and wash the parts that can be washed/sanitized, butthere are parts that need to be changed. We’ve changed the power and the roller button once in those 11 years. It’s pretty easy to do. I highly recommend this part. Buy 2 or more just to keep them handy. Please don’t call Dyson as they’re not helpful at all. Once again I highly recommend this. Thanks!

Watch utube on the switch replacement.
This is a very inexpensive way to avoid a high repair bill. UTube made the task simple. My vacuum runs like new.

Simple and cheap fix to bring vacuum back to life
Recently our Dyson DC-14 was having issues where half the time it just would not turn on. My wife was ready for a new vacuum cleaner but after how expensive the Dyson was and only 7 years of life, I wasn't ready to throw in the towel just yet.A basic google search yielded a wonderful British vacuum repair site. There I discovered that the actuator switch often seems to go on Dysons and the site even included a repair video. After finding this switch on Amazon, I couldn't turn down the chance to revive my precious Dyson for only $5. Amazon delivered the part in, as always, record time and I got to the repair step. The actual repair was a bit trickier than the video had made it seem. I think that if you regularly took apart your Dyson to clean all the contacts etc then it might have been easier (but really, who does that?). As it was, the rubber and plastic gaskets were all rather stuck/melted to each other so removing the plastic cover piece without breaking anything was challenging. Once, I exposed the old switch it was a cinch. The old one had some obvious burn marks and I just pulled out the 2 wires and popped them into this new switch and voila! Newly restored and purring Dyson.

Cost effective fix for the Dyson switch fail
For the second time, the Dyson Pet Ball whatever had a switch failure. The first time it was under warranty and at that time the drop off shop I went to was full of Dyson's and he indicated it was basically a faulty switch design. This second failing was not under warranty so I opted to just take a chance and buy the switch after watching a youtube or two on replacing it. The switch worked and I only screwed up the reassembly once and then fixed my error. I highly recommend taking a crack at doing it yourself if your switch fails. It's probably 30min end to end taking it slow. I'm a Dyson hater but only because they are full of crap about how "great the engineering" is. I've owned different brands of vacuums and have never had an on off switch fail, ever, that's just basic stuff.

Legit and works
Simply put, this product comes as pictured and does what it's intended to. I used it to replace my Shark Professional Rotator vacuum switch and it fixed the issue.

CHEAP FIX FOR AN EXPENSIVE VACUUM
In the process of packing to move I dropped my Dyson on it's side and blew the power button. I've had the vacuum for about 8 years and love it, so I decided to try fixing it (watch a couple of YouTube videos). It IS sligltly difficult to get the vacuum apart but once it's apart it takes 2 seconds to replace the switch and I replaced both just for good measure. These switches slide right it with absolutely no effort and work like a champ.
