I'm a Judas Priest fan ever since I first heard one of their songs. The second this item got to my door, I rediscovered Judas Priest in a way that I didn't know was possible. The songs are in chronological order, so that it is quite nice to listen to one of these 4 great CDs and watch the feelings and the sound develop and change as the years go by. It's a great collection for Priest fans and for metal fans around the world. The collection also has a DVD of one of their live shows included. And it also has a very cool book that includes lyrics, pictures and some words from the members. Great buy! Great collection! Would buy it again anytime if, for some reason, it got lost.

I'm not sure it gets much better than this. Several hours worth of amazing music (if you haven't seen Judas Priest in concert find a show and go now, they really are the masters of metal) and a DVD too (haven't watched the DVD yet). This is a perfect mix of their music, I'm not usually to into box sets but I think this one is actually very good! And the box itself looks great on my shelf!

This has got be one of the best box sets out there. This Boxset expands the 30 years of priest from the hard Rock stylings of Rocka Rolla, to the the agressiveness of Demolition. The Rare live tracks, and bonus track "Heart Of a Lion" Makes this box set worth while. The Bonus DVD of a 1983 show in Memphis completely owns and the booklet is very informative There's no mistaking Priest's influence in Metal. This is a Must Have for all Defenders Of The Faith!!!

This is my first Amazon review, and a tough one. I will write this based on my experience strictly with the set I purchased. The box set I bought is described as "Used - Like New". I will discuss the good first - The discs inside the set all came shrink wrapped and in perfect shape. I guess for purely functional reasons, the discs are what you listen to and what "counts". However, the case itself is dented and scratched, and there is rust on the metal belt. Buying a box set is a total package. You purchase a box set for the packaging just as much as the music inside, because in most cases, box sets are purchased by collectors. The aesthetic condition on this one is definitely NOT "Like New". I will say that if I leave my personal purchase out of it and reviewed the set specifically for the product itself, there would not be enough stars. I am an enormous Judas Priest fan, and this box set is a perfect purchase, considering you can find one that IS in great shape. Trust me, the aesthetic issues with the one I bought did not deter me from taking a strategic picture of it to crow about on Facebook. The tracklist on the audio discs comprises the absolute finest of Judas Priest's songs, and includes some live rarities and one unreleased track, "Heart of a Lion". The band even included a few of the best songs from the "Ripper Era" of the band! Trust me, if you love Judas Priest, your favorite songs are on here. It's more than a "best of", and well worth purchasing at any reasonable price. Based on the product alone, it would be a 5 star rating. My personal piece loses two stars for the outer box damage, and gains one star for the shrink wrapped discs. Hence, 4 stars overall.

Killer comp. If you don't already have all the albums or If you're looking to turn someone on to Priest this is perfect. And the unreleased outtake from the Turbo sessions was surprisingly good. Too band the album didn't sound like that.

Una recopilación de 10, tanto en el diseño de su enorme y espectacular estuche, como en la selección de canciones y la calidad de sonido de los discos. Este estuche contiene todo lo mejor de los "Metal Gods", Judas Priest, de 1974 a 2001, para celebrar su 30 aniversario. Todos los temas están remasterizados y tienen un estupendo sonido, potente y nítido. Son 4 cd's y un dvd con un concierto de 1 hora y media, de su gira de 1982 para presentar su trabajo "Screaming for vengeance". Por si todo esto fuera poco, también hay un libreto con muchas páginas, llenas de fotos y texto (en inglés). Una gozada.

皆さんのレビューには、このセットにはDVDが付属しているように書かれていますが、現在販売されているものは、再発されたもので、DVDは付いていません。 しかし、この価格で4枚組。 個人的にだいすきな、セカンドアルバムからの曲も豊富に収録されており、嬉しい限りです。 デジタルリマスターも施してあるようで、古い曲も最高の音質で楽しめます。 もちろん、選曲も最高！CD4枚分楽しめます。

Diese Rezension bezieht sich auf eine neuere Auflage dieses Boxsets. Es enthält 4 CDs. Eine DVD gibt es nicht mehr. Das dort enthaltene Konzert gibt es aber mittlerweile anderweitig zu kaufen (Live Vengeance). Das Set umfasst die Zeit von 1974-2001. Es sind 65 Songs enthalten bei einer Spielzeit von etwas über 5 Stunden. Ich bin nicht unbedingt ein großer Metal-Fan und brauche auch nicht einzelne Alben der Band. Auf der Suche nach einer guten Best Of CD bin ich auf dieses Boxset gestoßen, welches sich preislich im Rahmen einer normalen oder Doppel-CD bewegt und mehr bietet als die guten Doppel-CDs Essential oder Metal Works. Das Preis/Leistungs-Verhältnis war also ausschlaggebend. Für mich ist das Set ideal, da ich hier fast nahezu alle Songs der Band gefunden habe (United fehlt aber), die mir gefallen. Die Gewichtung bei der Auswahl der Songs dürfte stimmen. Der Großteil der Songs stammt aus der Zeit von 1980-1990. Das Album Defenders Of The Faih ist allein mit 8 Songs vertreten. Das Set bietet zumeist die Songs in den Albumversionen. Dazu gibt es noch ein paar Live-Tracks, die teilweise von B-Seiten oder Maxis stammen. Mit Heart Of Lion gibt es noch Demo von den Sessions zu TURBO. Die Entwicklung der Band lässt sich gut chronologisch nachvollziehen. Da gibt es bluesige Anfänge. Die Einflüsse von Black Sabbath und Led Zeppelin sind teilweise auch hörbar. Ende der 70er erfinden die Band dann praktisch den Sound des klassischen Metal und Rob Halford den dafür typischen Gesang. Mitte der 80er werden die Produktionen glatter, teilweise auch technischer und poppiger (Keyboards, der Schlagzeugsound). Ende der 80er bekommen sie dann noch einmal die Kurve. Die Musik wird wieder härter. Anfang der 90er legen sie mit Painkiller das wohl härteste Album ihrer Karriere vor. Danach verließ Sänger Halford die Band. Mit seinem Nochfolger Ripper Owens konnte die Band nicht mehr an alte Erfolge anknüpfen. Aus dieser Zeit sind hier auch nur 4 Songs enthalten. Danach erfolgte die Reunion mit Halford. Beim Durchhören dieses Sets erstaunt mich immer wieder für wie viele typische Sounds des Heavy Metal diese Band mitverantwortlich ist. Da ist sie m.E. stilprägender als Iron Maiden, die von ihrem typischen Sound nicht so weit abgwichen sind. Judas Priest klangen fast auf jedem Album anders und Halford versuchte sich auch an verschiedenen Gesangsstilen. Wenn man Painkiller hört, dann fällt einem sogar ein Einfluss auf MUSE in Stockholm Syndrome auf. Den Leder- und Nietenlook hat die Band auch erfunden. Das Booklet bietet einen Text über die Karriere der Band. Dazu gibt es noch Fotos von den Alben und eine Diskographie/Timeline. Auf die einzelnen Besetzungen der Band wird leider wenig eingegangen. Durch das neue Format (DVD-Hüllen-Größe) ist das Booklet bestimmt kleiner geworden. Die weißen Texte die sich zumeist auf Fotos befinden sind nicht immer leicht zu lesen. Der Haltemechanismus der sich überlappenden CDs ist auch nicht ideal. Der Sound geht in Ordnung. Einige Live-Tracks klingen weniger gut. Fazit: Ein guter Karriereüberblick. Die Band hat danach nur noch zwei Studioalben veröffentlicht. Ein weiteres steht in Kürze an. Für Einsteiger ist dieses Set zu empfehlen, allen anderen die sich für Rockmusik der härteren Art interessieren aber auch, da es sich hier um eine der stilprägendsten Bands überhaupt handelt. Der Preis (Stand Juli 2014 ca. 17 Euro) stimmt auch. Von daher volle Sternezahl.

El booklet es extenso lleno de fotos, notas y una cronología de la banda. La caja de en si es un lujo con esteperoles reales que la rodean y ese negro que emula ser piel. Recomendado al 100% para cualquier amante de JUDAS PRIEST y del heavy metal.
