Great reference - very interesting - very readable
I recently read a book on the history of textiles titled, The Fabric of Civilization by Virginia Postrel. After reading this I wanted a quick reference guide. I am a creator and use fabric quite often. I found this a great reference helping in fabric selection. It gives a description of the fabric and a brief history. It also gives a first glimpse to understanding specific fabric characteristics.

A good reference.
Bought this for my daughter who has a vintage clothing business. She buys and sells fabric as well as clothes. She requested this book as a birthday gift. She said it will be a very useful to her and was pleased with the content.

Short, but still useful
A slim volume. Looking at Textiles is easy to use but by no means exhaustive. If you need a brief overview and a fairly wide range, this is an affordable option.

Excellent Resource
Excellent encyclopedia-style resource of textile terms and definitions. Anyone studying and writing about textiles will find this a useful and thorough resource.

This was ordered for my daughter. It arrived when promised and didn't appear to have any damage at a glance.
