Very light and soft gloves. Palms are leather and sufficiently padded. Upper part of these gloves are mesh material with soft impact protective polyurethane material.They are not waterproof but quite protective from cold, but not from Chicago cold for sure. Mesh top portion allows hand to breathe and avoids sweating quite a lot. I would say it is pretty perfect balance.I wouldn't say these are suitable for motorbike riders. They wouldn't be sufficiently impact resistant and protective in case of an accident. However for dirt biking, trekking, car repair vs these are sufficiently protective. Palms are not thin, but still they give sufficient sense to your hands to do any job. Touch screen works fine with me.Size. I normally wear small gloves and accidently bought medium ones. They fit perfectly but fingers have extra material on tips, so not very comfortable. But I would say they are pretty much true to size. I bought another model of this brand which is small size, and that fits perfectly.They have extended wrist portions with Velcro straps to keep the glove in place. Not comfortable if you are wearing a watch.

I typically wear a Medium to Large in motorcycle gloves. I ordered a Medium of these... as you can see in the photo, it did not go well.
