I ahd been looking for a durable wooden ladle and this was the answer. It have a coating on it so that it doesn't break down. Love it.

Love this ladle
Love this ladle. It's made of wood but with a smooth finish. Great for non-stick pans. End of handle has groove to hold ladle on edge of pot when not in use. As with all wooden utensils, I hand wash this item.

Died after a few uses...
I loved this spoon at first. It was perfect for my morning porridge, but after only a handful of uses it developed a pink and green mold. I have many wooden utensils so it's not that I left it in food or water. I always automatically handwash mine. I had to throw it out. I don't know if it needed tobe tested before use, but I recommend you do if you buy this.
