As soon as I opened this my cats ran into the kitchen and starting screaming! It's very smelly but super good flavor, definitely worth it.

Dashi Packs are for a large pot of soup base
I’ve never used this product. I bought it based on YouTube videos I’ve watched. It’s definitely a dried Fish product. I used an entire packet for about two cups of liquid. That was my first mistake. It was soooo overpowering that I was turned off of using the product ever again. Instead I’ll use it for fertilizer for my vegetables. I’ll stick to straight MISO for future soup batches. If you enjoy the taste of dried Fish that smells like it’s old, use it. As for me, I’ll leave the creation of DASHI to the Japanese expert Chefs.

Not much flavor
Doubled the packets, smelled good but tasted off and not much flavor. Will stick to dashi flakes.

Natural and Healthy
This is a nice natural flavored dashi. I feel its a little bland compared to other no msg ones I have used. Its a but expensive for there only being 10 dashi bags.

Taste is bitter and bland
I was so excited to try packets since I typically make my dashi from scratch using kombu and katsuobushi. Some of the packets tore open as I separated them from each other, rending them totally useless. Then when I finally steeped them, the flavor was bitter and muted. So I tried again and only steeped for a few minutes. Still bitter! I ended up just going back to my old method! Tried and true.

Stinks
This dashi smells like rotten fish. Not a good base for miso soups.
