Application
5 step process, lot's of labor, #1. sand boat, #2. JB Weld (Marine Grade) any pock holes, #3. Sand boat again, then use the recommended etching spray, #4. apply 2 part barrier paint 3:1 mix rolls on thick not like paint 3 coats minimum are recommended, last step #5. apply Aluminum AF paint... Well worth the end result with maximum protection, 3 quarts yields 3 coat's on a 14' boat...expect about 2 days to apply with day time temperatures being considered, read all instructions carefully, very detailed wear appropriate clothing and read entire procedures... Very impressive 👍😎

Welder’s worst nightmare
Just got off the phone with my guy whos welding aluminum. “Jesus guy, what kind of primer you use on this!? I had to sand and torch it 3 times to get it off!” Gave me a good laugh. This stuff is pretty tough. Application was easy as long as you take your time and prep it correctly. Pretty happy and If i decide to totally restore another flat bottom in the future(NOT likely) I will be sure to purchase again.

A few things to keep in mind....
What a great product, just a few things that helped me... It is going to be too thick out of the can. drill mixing attachment to mix the base and hardner together. Thin 10% with totalboat 200 thinner and roll it on with a bunch of small foam rollers. Wear a good respirator, probably too dangerous to spray without a full force fed suit as I have read these epoxies in aerosol can damage your lungs real bad, not worth the risk.. It etches and bonds to even lightly oxidized aluminum. I quit sanding and just washed clean and applied, seems to be holding up no differently than a lot of sanding...

Buy this now
1000% reccomend this. I bought this as a precaution to help stop any leaks that nay or may not happen. It popped up when I google waterproof barrier undercoat for a boat. This product is not rated to be waterproof I later found out but once I applied it I felt super happy it went on perfectly to my aluminum 16foot boat. I do reccomend getting a top coat for once it drys. Use inside as well if you can

Aluminum boat hull
Used to prime and protect a boat project. It goes on very thick and rough even when thinned out. Reminded me of bedliner. But that could of been the application process. Cheap airless gun. It did cover well and did a total of 4 coats.

Ready for fishing.
Bought a boat for fishing this spring...long story...but the guy swore it did not leak. It did. Found this product on Amazon bought it and put a coat on heavy. Covered it with paint like it said. Let it dry good for a week and it's like a new boat again. Very pleased with the outcome.

Great for stock tank pool
We have a 15' stock tank pool that our kids "swim" in during the summer. I keep chlorine in it, so last year it began to rust. I tried sanding the rust down and using flex seal, and that flaked off almost immediately. So this year we, again, buffed out all the rust and used this, and it is working incredibly well so far!! It covered the bottom of the 15' pool thinly and about 6" up the pool wall. I would like to put on another coat this fall for extra protection, as the can calls for multiple coats. But this was a great solution to our problem!!
