Read this and pass it around,
Awesome book that shows you what is really going on behind the scenes with the banks and our Government. It shows you that those who control the money, controls the world. Eye opening and frightening, but a wake up call to those who remain ignorant in the shadows. I admit I have always known that manipulations of interest and money availability took place between the banks and Government. I am ashamed that I did not know the extent and how dangerous it is to the global economy. The fact that the federal reserve where our money is printed is NOT a real Federal agency and their board members are kept secret is a scary thought. The federal reserve can print money at will, which is a violation of our Constitution, as that role belongs to the Government treasury. Yet all continues as normal and no one seems to want to do anything to correct it, Our salvation is to return to a Gold back currency....but that is not what those who control world finances want, and this book explains why.

Great content but not the best written
Although I was already familiar with many of the topics in this book (fiat currencies, fractional banking, petrodollar, various securities...) I learned a lot more detail about gold/silver and how it relates to and underlies all facets of money/wealth. The techniques used to manipulate the precious metals market were very informative and I was particularly impressed by the chapter on silver. It was a real eye opener. I found it difficult to put the book down even though it was not an easy read. The only reason I gave it a 4 rather than 5 was because it was not well written. Explanations were not chronological and at times confusing and several charts were unreadable. This book is NOT light reading but if the subject of money interests you, I highly recommend this book.

Sobering View of a Very Likely Future
I became interested in precious metals after inheriting a small amount of silver coins after the death of my parents in 2013. Prior to this, I always considered coin collecting as an interesting pastime, but not one for which I had sufficient patience. Over the summer, I found myself researching the small number of inherited silver coins in my possession. In the process, I began reading about our monetary and currency systems, which ultimately led me to this book. It is well worth your time and contemplation. I firmly believe we are living in very perilous financial times, and this book provides a wealth of information that can be used to help protect you and your family. God bless my grandparents for saving many of these coins, and God bless my parents for preserving them for my generation.

Read it today and start to get ready
I found this book very informative. Personally I was caught by surprise in 2008. Prior to the 2008 crash I ignored the things that stopped making sense. The current way the financial system works does not make sense in my opinion and this time Im not ignoring it. There are many books that I have read about gold and they all have a small piece of the puzzle that other similar books lack. If you read multiple books on any topic there will be some repetition. This is a great book. Read it, others like it and a few about the current bond market then get ready because things don't make sense. Once everyone catches on its too late.

Eye opening
A truly disturbing book (parts of which read like a loony conspiracy theory, except that it is quite clearly true, and explains many things we have experienced, both as citizens and as market participants. The book is a little vague about what to about all this (as it should be -- there is no easy solution). The book loses a star (for me) since it is rather breathless, does not explain the technical aspects very well at all (this is a serious problem -- if you don't understand what is going on, you are not going to really understand the depth of the mess either), the editing is awful, there are minor (in context) errors (e.g. at one point the author states that Putin was the head of the KGB, which he was not), which undermine the author's credibility somewhat. The kindle "port" is far from perfect as well (there are problems rescaling the charts, numbers are sometimes mis-typeset, etc). Still, the problems pale compared to the impact of the message. Also, while I agree with the reviewers who recommend reading Murray Rothbard and the Austrians, Rothbard did not live to see the apotheosis of the problem, and the scale of the current disaster might have been hard even for him to imagine.

An invaluable reference to money mechanisms, wealth preservation, how wealth flows and is stored across the world.
I am over half way through it and it is not an easy book to read. The concepts are difficult to understand in some cases, but that is not the writer's fault. Money and currencies and commodities are literally the 'stock in trade' of the world. Do you expect an explanation and survey of related topics to be easy to follow ?Consider getting this in paper as a reference. We are headed toward another period of turmoil with opportunities to make a lot and to lose a lot. You have to decide if you want to improve your odds and this book will help you avoid mistakes and understand your options to salvage wealth (as cash, investments, physical wealth). You never had all this explained in college and you will certainly never see it explained on television or a magazine. You want to see in some detail how 'it' really is ? OK; here it is and you will not like it.

This book IS a red pill!
Written with such detail and subtle insights that this book is a referential work I need to read more than once to understand the whole illusion of financial health. So much contrarian knowledge to gain...reading this his book is like taking the red pill in our financial matrix.

I enjoyed the contents within the book and found it very informative, however, I found the reproduction of some of the table of figures to be of poor quality. This made referring to certain tables when referenced in the book difficult.
