This is our second one that we’ve bought. The first one did tear up but it was our fault. We loaded it with a lot of heavy stuff. Second time around we now put a blanket inside the bag to cover our stuff. So, it doesn’t create any holes and so it can protect our stuff from the rain. It’s not waterproof but your stuff won’t be completely soaked. But if you cover your stuff up with like big bag then that solves your problems. We drive cross country frequently. We’ve gone through all weathers and it’s still is in good shape. We’ve driven over 20k miles from east to west and west to east w/o a problem. We use zip ties for extra security. That’s what it looks like currently it’s not fully filled up.

My partner and I had a 4 day long camping trip we went on in another state. Both states are notorious for crazy canyon winds that you can feel your car being pushed around in. This thing held fast with no sliding or shifting, even when we were going 70mph and dealing with those winds.Secondly, there is SO much space in this carrier. We were able to fit 2 full size suit cases, 2 camping chairs, as well as 2 golf club bags full of supplies with wiggle room to spare.3rd and most importantly of all, the weather proofing. The last day of our camp it started to pour on is. Thunder, lightening, moderate winds, the works! This kept everything we had still inside bone dry, even with the car parked. On the drive back home we also dealt with more rain and even snow into the mountains. When we got home, everything still completely dry!The zippers are incredibly durable and easy to use. I could see that if you over stuffed the bag then you would run into issues of the zipper splitting or refusing to close up, but... Don't overfill it?Overall this was a phenomenal purchase and I would certainly buy another one for my second vehicle.

We traveled over 1800 miles through very extreme weather conditions on land and sea and our bag performed like a champ. Contents were secure, dry and easy to store, with easy access through the very secure covered zipper closure. Couldn’t have been more pleased by both the performance and the price/value of this product.

I bought this car cover for the road trip we we took from Oklahoma City to Galveston (roughly 10 1/2 hrs one way with stops). We put 3 “large” (about 29x18x10) hard case suitcases and 1 small (20x14x9) hard case suitcase inside the cargo bag and my husband installed it according to the instructions on to our Nissan Armada. On the way down it poured rain almost the entire time and the cover ended up with a huge hole on the top of it. Thankfully I’d packed my soft covered suitcase in his SUV otherwise all of the clothes I had in that one would have been soaked as the cover wouldn’t have kept it safe from the elements. When we arrived in Galveston for our cruise my husband wrapped up the cover carefully and stowed it in his SUV for the week we would be gone on our cruise so it wouldn’t get ruined further. When we got back after he had it loaded back up he went to zip it back up and the zipper came apart completely. Luckily he and I always keep emergency kits and extra rope and tow straps in our SUVs so he was able to strap everything down on top inside the cover with the extra straps we had on hand. If not we could have put them inside the SUV and my son would have been cramped for the 10 1/2hr trip as we had 5 people riding in our SUV all packed for a 7 day cruise and coming back with souvenirs for family and friends. If I could return this product I would but I’m outside of the return window. If I could give less than 1 star I would, but I can’t. I hardly ever give negative reviews, but in this case I wanted to make sure someone else didn’t waste their hard earned money on something so poorly made.
