Love this Series, But This One Has an Unfortunate Slow Pace
I have loved this entire series. Sherlock as a woman, main character adores cake and eccentricities, mystery and side plots, favorite time period, quality writing, et cetera. Unfortunately, the pace of this particular installment was so incredibly slow, and it took me much longer to read than usual.I don’t even mind slow — I went to college reading Ann Radcliffe! — but this story just didn’t match up to the other books in the series hence the 3 stars. I became burdened and frustrated as characters kept lying, kept having to be re-examined multiple times, and it kept dragging on while poor Inspector Treadles’ future is in danger. How did Charlotte not pull her hair out over these shenanigans?!If you’re playing catch up with the series like I am, skip this one and head to “Miss Moriarty, I Presume?” since there will likely be the early recap of the previous storylines like the other books. Here’s hoping the next few speed up and get us back to why we fell in love with this wonderfully written series!

The Lady Sherlock series is Fabulous!
I heard about this series from a friend on Facebook. I’m so glad I bought the first book! Every time a new one comes out I have to get it! Sherry Thomas writes a believable historical Sherlock Holmes series in accurate 1880’s time, with clever details and storyline. I’ve loved every book and Murder on Cold Street doesn’t disappoint.

This series gets better with each book
I have really enjoyed this series. I think each book has gotten better. I discovered these books while I was laid up with a broken foot. They were a quick fun read that allowed me to forget my problems!
