Sowder Rooster Hackle Feather Fringe Trim 5-7" in Width Pack of 5 Yards (Natural)

Glad I read the reviews to see that these bleed dye. I washed before using with shampoo and conditioner mixed and rinsed more that 8 times to get to the point where it finally wasn't bleeding black dye. Turned my hands black during the process. Very happy I did that before I put on my body. Hair dried after towel patting it. Otherwise, nice. Expected it to be longer than it really was though. seems more like four or five inches verses the five to seven as advertised. A bit thin, but with two yard you can double it up easily and make a bit thicker looking at least.

My son was a crow for Halloween, we pinned them to a shirt across the arm span. They were perfect for it.

The feathers are really soft and easy to attach, but a warning if you want to sew them onto a project: The machine needle will get hot while sewing and will get the glue all over it from the feathers, doable but not worth it in my opinion. Finding a different way to attach it or sewing it by hand was easier. The feathers worked perfectly for what I needed them for!

Visually lovely feathers and full trim but the dye rubs off, got all over my hands and my work surface. They also smelled like chemicals when I opened the packaging. The ribbon holding them is stitched and glued, so sewing them onto a base was frustrating because of the glue. Opted to use hot glue instead. The 5 yards was just enough to make black fairy wings.

This trim is unbelievably impressive. Way better than anything I have seen in a craft store. When I first opened the package I was positively dazed at how much the 5 yards actually is. So much to play with! The color (I ordered turquoise) is very vibrant and has so much depth to it. However, a lot of the feathers near the tips are much more of a bright green than in the picture (or so it appears so on my monitor), yet they are beautiful just the same. The feathers are clean, undamaged, and seem very durable so far. There is no funny smell at all, call me crazy but I think they actually smell good! They seem well attached to the trim binding also. I can't wait to use these on my next creation! Will certainly be ordering more colors from this seller!I received this in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. I was very impressed with these feathers. They arrived neatly packed and in excellent shape, the feathers were not damaged and are still glossy and soft with very few blemishes, all of which are almost unnoticeable and to be expected of anything made from real feathers(I didn't even see them until I was sewing it on and had them less than two feet from my face to see a detail in my stitch). They appear to be affixed very well and there are no gaps in the feathers of the trim. The only thing I wish was different is that the bias tape that holds them together as a trim is very synthetic and shiny looking which doesn't work well for my viking inspired cloak. I'm going to cover it with something with a more period look but am very happy with the product.

These feather were perfect for my “raven” Halloween costume! Live the iridescence makes it not flat looking, various size of feathers to make it realistic

These are no real black feathers they are dyed but overall look nice for costuming, I received the order too late to use it for my costume and I wish I had been able to include them because it would have been a nice touch.

These feathers are really beautiful! I used them to make a juju hat type hanging on my wall, simply hot glue gunning it around a dollar store place mat! Save £££ on the real thing and you couldn’t tell it wasn’t! The colours are amazing!

Easy to use, doesn't shed.

Ok. But product has a lot of glue in between the binding which has blunted several needles. Not easy to sew on. A lot of feathers have fallen out.
