Magical
I now hate other detergent. I’ve added this to my own mix. Which I’ll share the recipe for below. This is a good price and my clothes are clean, soft, bright, and well maintained. I buy a lot of tencel, modal, and organic cotton products. Things that need special care. This is good enough for them.Recipe:1.5 cups of this Soda Ash1.5 cups of Baking Soda.5 cups of Epsom Salt.25 C Sea Salt25 drops of Essential Oil (your choice/optional)I double this when making and use approx. 2Tbsp pet wash.Use wool dryer balls as a finish, or hang/flat dry for whatever material :)

Great product and package
This is exactly what I needed and it's a great product with the perfect package. The grade of the product seems quite clean.People get this product [soda ash] mixed up with bicarbonate of soda used in a pool. Soda ash is used for raising the pH, but doesn't affect the reading of carbonates in the water, otherwise known as total alkalinity for the purpose of your pool test kit. This directly raises the pH level whereas the bicarb raises the total alkalinity [TA], which in turn stops the pH from dropping too far. It is designed more as a pH buffer and to reduce the corrosiveness of the water. The proper use of bicarbonate of soda is to raise the TA to between 80-120 ppm, preferably on the high side if your pH tends to drop. This will help protect equipment and provide a pH buffer so the pH doesn't fluctuate as much.Soda ash [this product] should only be used to raise the pH. So first, adjust your pH with this product, then establish the above values on your TA, and then come back and check your pH level again if necessary. Proper pH for a swimming pool should be between 7.2 and 7.6 if you are using chlorine as your sanitizer. That is also the human comfort zone and eyes and skin can become very irritated if the pH is off by very much. When you get outside of that pH range, your chlorine stops working as well and you could start to have sanitation issues even if your chlorine levels are in the proper range.Pools tend to fluctuate pH range up or down depending on what other products you use and the pH of any replacement water. As such, pool water tends to either go up or down consistently. Therefore, if you regularly use either a pH increaser or decreaser, you will rarely require the other unless you've overdosed or done something completely different like used a different sanitizer.

Purchased to use as PH increaser for pool
Works great as ph increaser without raising the alkalinity as much as sodium bicarbonate/baking soda does. Bucket keep product dry and there were no clumps as I have with other brands. Dissolves quickly.

Homemade Laundry Detergent Must-Have
I recently started making my own laundry detergent. I felt overwhelmed by the options of products at first, but I am so glad that I went with this washing soda! I wash a lot of cotton and other natural fibers, and this product has cared well for them. It also makes our laundry smell and look fresh - everything from my woodworker husband’s work clothes to our baby’s clothes. So far I’m truly impressed with this and can’t believe I didn’t make the switch to homemade detergent sooner! This made it so much easier.

Great for raising pH and alkalinity in pools
I use this product and it works great to raise both pH and total alkalinity in a pool. Recommendation is one pound (dry weight) per 10,000 gallons. Skip the expensive "pH Up" and try soda ash. This particular brand is a great value.Note to the seller... your comment in the description "May be used in pools to neutralize chlorine" is FALSE. That is not what soda ash does in a pool. It raises pH which can actually make chlorine more effective. Correct your facts... easy enough to check online. I'll give it 5 stars when the facts are corrected, because right now the description is misleading and can cause someone to buy and use the wrong pool additive.

Just in time to tie dye
I'm glad this arrived before the 17th, I would have had to cancel the order, and my subprime prime account. It came just in time to tie dye. Normally I go to a pool supplies shop around town and get a better price, but they are closed for the season. This is an industrial grade, probably more pure than medication will be in America in 2025, so it's all good. Highly recommend for winter tie dying

Laundry cleaner
We use this in addition to borax for our own cleaning solution for clothes. It’s amazing and fragrance free. Using this is much cheaper and healthier than buying laundry detergent. Perfect for babies, kids or people with allergies or simply families looking for an alternative to traditional detergents. Crunchy mom friendly.

Works great
I use this to increase the alkalinity in my pool and it works great. The packaging doesn’t open with the tear strip but use a pair of scissors and it opens up just fine.
