Very Good But With Quality Questions
This certainly seems to be a good selection of original artists and original hits. However, I noted a few quality matters. On "Since I Don't Have You", there is a faint glitch toward the end. I've heard this on two different copies of this CD."La Bamba" cuts off abruptly. Other copies of this song may also have this, but I noticed it here."Shout" has a tic, the kind of sound you get from a vinyl record. There may be other quality questions. I haven't reviewed all of the tunes carefully since I didn't need all of them. Some people might think I'm being picky. Maybe I just notice more because I've done a lot of editing to remove noise when transferring from vinyl to CD. In my opinion, all songs on published CDs should have been carefully edited.FYI: I'm a record collector of 50 years and a sometimes deejay.

22 out of 25 ain't that bad ....
If you grew up in the 1950s, then you might like each and every song on this CD. But growing up in the 1960s, I like all but three, and those three apparently weren't that popular to stay on the charts for years afterwards. Tell Me Why by Norman Fox & The Rob Roys, Chances Are by Johnny Mathis, and Chapel Bells by The Fascinators just are not requested when I DJ reunions, dances, etc. Chances Are is popular with certain people, but I could live without that style with no problem. Just a personal preference, and based on requests for songs played.

WELL CATS AND CHICKS, THE BEST STAX ON WAX AIN'T THIS, BUT IT'S PRETTY GOOD. USUALLY NOT A FAN OF 'COLLECTIBLES' COMPANY WHO PUT THIS TOGETHER, BUT ON THIS, THEY GOT IT RIGHT,SOMEWHAT. I SAY SOMEWHAT BECAUSE, YOU CAN'T ALWAYS GET WHAT U WANT, BUT IT IS AN OVERALL GOOD C.D. THE SOUND QUALITY IS GOOD, CLEAR..THE SONG SELECTIONS RANGE FROM 'IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHT' A CLASSIC DOO-WOP, TO THE EVERLY BROTHER'S 'BYE BYE LOVE'...FOR SOMEONE JUST GETTING INTO THE OLDIES I SAY GET IT, IT IS WORTH IT; IF YOU HAVE BEEN LISTENING TO OLIDES AS LONG AS I HAVE, (OVER 35 YEARS), IT MAY NOT BE YOUR CUP OF TEA...IF YOUR REALLY INTO THE OLDIES, I WOULD GO WITH EITHER THE OLDIES BUT GOODIES COLLECTION FROM TIME-LIFE(AVAILABLE HERE), OR THE AMERICAN GRAFFITI SDTK...OVERALL A GOOD COLLECTION OF HITS...ROCK ON CATS!

All Originals - That's What Matters
This was an excellent choice to fill in a gaping hole in our music collection, and the fact that the songs are all the real deal, along with a great price made this a must buy. Ther are a few yawners, but having the orginal La Bamba, and the Isley Brothers' Shout made this an easy decision on which 50's cd to buy. One more thing, when I saw the brand "Collectables" on the enlarged picture, it put my mind at ease as far as being all originals, since we already had one Christmas CD put out by them.

50s Music will live on!!
This is a great CD with some of the greatest artists of the 50s. I bought this because the song "Peggy Sue" is on this and I recenetly purchased a 1957 Chevy 210 Teal/White and named her Peggy Sue. I can't wait to update the radio but keep everything original looking just make it more up to our speed with the time. All my girl will play will be 50s music to suit her time as we cruise along the Blvd. 50s forever!Fast shipping & great packing. Thanks -Jennifer

Anyone who grew up in the 50s and 60s and loved the rock music of the time will love this CD.
I was born and raised during the Golden Age of Rock and Roll. Rock and roll was first aired when I was age three, so I was steeped in the Golden Oldies. These were the best years in my opinion and whoever loved the music from that period will love this CD.
