I was super nervous about getting this engraver. I have experience with the bigger name brands and it was a mess and waste of supplies. Wainlux did not disappoint. It took me a few to upload drivers and program to my computer but it’s fairly self explanatory.The best part is that it will shown you exactly where it plans to cut so you can position your item as perfectly as you can. For the price I paid it more than excelled in what I wanted and needed.The program it self is simple and I do need to make some designs in another program or app and the upload the picture. The large monogram showed up pixelated on the program but when it engraved was smooth lines and nice detail.While this is portable, please please use it in a well ventilated area with a fan near pulling the air away. Because it is portable I am able to take my work to the porch and easily work on it there.The mobile app…. Is less useful. Mostly because it won’t preview, meaning show the exact area where the laser with engrave; so boo for that.As for height adjustments, I bought some not jenga at the dollar tree and glue heights I needed and it works fine~The work area is small but if you are new and just need something to learn on and eventually keep for quick small projects this is definitely worth it.Engraving time… about 5-8 minutes on my pens. And the big monogram with is nearly the full working area for the laser…. About 2 hours. Yes it’s a bit of a long time but considering that I couldn’t get the name brand to do this nice and smoothly, I’m more than happy with the times.I am primarily working on bamboo, and the color of the engraving will vary on the wood, but each is well done and nicely finished. So if some engraves look lighter or darker , it simply the wood itself. I was worried about people not liking it, but most people were so happy getting a personalized item, they didn’t remark on burn variance.I hope this helps you if you really want an engraver but don’t know where to start. While the engraver isn’t exactly plug and play, considering cost and the fact you don’t have to have a subscription to use the program, I find it more than balanced in the work I have to do manually and what the engraver accomplishes.Happy engraving with all your projects~

Update:I’ve been trying to work with tech support for Wainlux. This is a waste of time. I send in a description of the problem and they ask questions about stuff I already told them. For example, I told them I was installing on a Windows machine using USB, and they asked me if I was using WIFI or Bluetooth. The machine description doesn’t say anything about WIFI.Even more maddening is that responses from tech support come once a day about 3 am. Obviously, these responses are coming from China from a person who doesn’t speak English.I’ve made the decision to send this back. Don’t waste your time. I’ve gotten zero from them.Original:Nothing about the software works. There was a thumb drive that came with the machine, and the manual said to use the software on the thumb drive. THE PROGRAM ON THE THUMB DRIVE WOULDN'T RUN.So I went back to the manual which gave directions for downloading software from the internet. I did this. Once unzipped and installed, the software wouldn't run. I've contacted support, but got a lousy response that said that the machine runs on either Bluetooth or WIFI and wanted to know which version I had. Amazon's description says it runs on both Bluetooth and USB. And apparently I have to wait overnight for each response as it's probably coming from China.

I was so excited to buy this, add to my crafting devices, I have a cricut, 3D printer etc. However FIRST issue is i didnt receive it, but company argued i had, took several days of messages to get it resolved. Saying I should go look for it at my neighbors etc??? And it was delivered to my mailbox? instead of my home PER THIER INSTRUCITIONS, if i had known this id requested it to my home. 1, my mailbox is half mile away from my home. 2You cant see my box fully from my home. and 3, my mailbox is larger than any around me, its still wouldnt have fit the item. I was very upset it was like they didnt believe me i did not receive it? Their messages were stated like IF IT proves to come out i didnt get it, after they got info from the shipping company they used. Then theyd see about replacing or working with me about it. THIS ITEM DOES NOT QUALIFTY FOR AMAZON 3RD PARTY REIMBURSMENT. i Also didnt know this. finally, They came back after 4 days of messages saying, The shipping info shows i received it, I would have to go through the co who delivered it. I had to wait days to find out it was usps. ONLY after they realized i truly didnt have it did they become nicer, and said i can get my money back with a claim w usps. I was extremely Luckily my mail lady recovered it., they use GPS to mark addresses where packages are delivered, received. IT was delivered to the wrong house by accident, with same last name, lady that received luckily hadnt opened it, she had a brain injury fr a car wreck within weeks, so she didnt realize it wasnt Her first name?? Anyways. IF they had not located it 2 weeks later. I wouldve had to go through USPS to get my money reimbursed. NO clue how long, what it wouldve required to go through that. I DID NOT look at reviews, i was caught up in the price difference in other models, the videos etc. SO before you go buy, check out the reviews, read throughly. YOU'LL be shocked. and maybe change your mind. So be prepared. AFTER getting it open, trying to set it up. I had to let my husband who is an engineer do this, even he had diffculty doing so. We used my PC, even tho videos show a guy easily using his phone et. its very deceiving. IT kept messing up, it took him a good 2 hours to get where it actually worked. re downloading it twice. Program, etc seems full of bugs. Mind you it was plugged in straight to my PC, next to the router etc. Im not sure how ill use this in practical uses in the future. IF it doesnt do well with phone, blue tooth/app. IT was hard to get it to do detail on the paper stock provided. it was either too light, or it burnt it? WE have not tried it on wood, metal or any other materials as i'm afraid itll ruin it. LOTS of practice to see if this product will even be any benefit. I bought to esp do NAMES, etc on tumblers, journals, wood etc. IF in the future it proves to be more easier to use, more accurate i will update. BUT FOR THE PRICE, HOW LONG IT TAKES TO ARRIVE (for me), The description, videos made it seem like a great investment. At $180 isnt cheap. I think ill save up, put in the extra $ to get a better option.

Nice laser machine, easy to assemble and setup on the computer. However, it was not powerful enough to burn leather. The prints seemed to be accurate and the speed was so-so. I ended up returning but for an entry level machine I’d recommend it for basic burning needs.
