Good idea - flawed product
What do I like?- good print quality- nice integration with desktop and mobile applications- automation using csv filesWhy not 5 stars?- there is always about 1.5 - 2cm of tape wasted before your label comes out. Not sure why, but this seems completely unnecessary and badly designed!- my unit does not properly recognise the tapes inserted. I can be that it sees a 18mm tape when it is a 24mm, or that it's white when it should be yellow, or that the text is printed mirrored... The system works completely mechanically by pins recognising holes in the cartridges. In order to avoid the misreadings, I have to shake and bang the printer prior to printing in order to make sure that any pins are properly dislodged.- Mess with desktop printing software. In all fairness, this runs on the latest version. However, this is not true for other printers of the same product range (e.g. PT-P750) which do not run on the latest version, but require an older one. What is Brother thinking? As I have both Dymo and Brother printers, the only reason why I should use a Brother seems to be able to print to 24mm tape. Other than that, Dymo offers exactly the same features but is more economical (almost no waste) and reliable.

Bought for use by dates
I bought myself a new fridge/freezer and decided that it was time to actually write on when I opened perishable food and for cooking batched items what the food was in the fridge/freezer as I like to move my perishable food across into a container and because I work in retail I don’t like wasting food. After looking between writing labels and a label maker, I decided to take the plunge and buy one. I’ve not regretted it. The app is easy to use, I can save labels that I make or are premade if you look through the label list, which makes it easier as all I need to do it just select what I need to print and away I stick. It is a bit expensive but I’m ok with that as it connects to my phone. It took me a while to play around with the label sizing and finding the right one for me. But I’ve used it for other items so gone a bit label mad as times gone on. It has really made my fridge/freezer organised, and made me a bit more self aware of when I need to eat my food up by. I’m not really good at the sniff test as it makes me gag. I did use the sample up within 2 weeks but like I said. I had a lot of trial and error with size, so hopefully will last me longer on my current one. There’s also different types of tape colours which is going to be handy for presents this year.

Will man also mehrere Schilder nacheinander drucken, verschenkt man bei 10 Drucken schon mal 25 cm des Bandes. Was soll das? Eine sinnvolle Erklärung findet man nicht. Es bleibt einem nur übrig, alle Etiketten auf das gleiche Band zu schreiben, um dann einen Gesamtausdruck zu machen. So verschwendet man nur einmal 2,5 cm.

This is packed full of features and easy to install and use
I thought the setup was a little long winded, until I actually got to play with what Brother had downloaded and installed. The printer drivers include Bluetooth and the USB connection. It charges either via the USB port or you use your phone charger. The labels are created via an app on your tablet, smartphone or your PC/Mac. The software is packed full of templates and I was really pleased with the results. The sample So you can edit/design your labels and send them to the printer. As this has a lithium battery in it you don't need any extra power leads to print. The roll of tape is high quality and it is great that you can use the smaller tapes [eg 6mm, 9mm, 12mm,, 18mm and the 24mm tape]. Like all other P-Touch labels the printed item is laminated so they are very weather resistant and the tapes are an easy swap. I am so pleased to have the product and it is overall great value for money. Highly Recommended. Andrew

great little printer, embarrasing software
The printer is great, and works a treat. I would give a five star review if the software was not so bad.The PC software (P-Touch editor5.4) feels like it was made for windows 95, it is extremely dated, clunky, not user friendly, Brother really need to step into the 21st century. The android app fares only a little better, but Brother should really up their game and get with the times or outsource their software development to someone under the age of 70
