Q: If I use this fabric around tomato and pepper plants,etc. will the nutrients and water still get through to the roots?

Yes, absolutely. The fabric is unidirectionally porous.

Q: Does this product have stripes located 12 inches apart to make for easy plant alignment.

YES it does. It is an excellent product. I bought a 200ft roll @ 60" wide. Used 100 ft on a shrub bed and put 3/4 -1" gravel on top. Looks great. Only 3 or 4 weeds in 6 months popping through at the edges. A quick zap with weed killer and that's all I have done to it in 6 months.

Q: Is this the same as geotextile fabric ?

After a brief Google search, I believe it is. I really like this material for my plant beds.
