Husky 5000 Watt Gas Generator with Subaru Engine

Bought this generator 7 years ago at Home Depot at end of hurricane season at a 60 % discount and it sat in box till Hurricane Ian. Took out of box, put in oil and gas and started on first pull. Now been running 14 hours a day for last 4 days. Its handling two pumps, refrigerator, microwave, clothes washer, tv, fans and lights. Electric may not be restored for at least 3 to 4 weeks. One thing I can smile about.

Works great! A little larger than what I really needed, but it was what was left at the store during a blizzard when the power ended up being out for 5 days. Never regretted it. It is a tad noisy, but not really for the power this has. I ran two homes off of it...my neighbors were very happy to have power too.After not starting it for 5 years, I needed it again and it started right up...much easier than my lawn mower ever starts :0 Oh, and with a light load, I see it gives about 2.5 hours for a gallon of gas. It does work harder with heavier loads, so your mileage may vary.

I've purchased the Husky 6250/5000 powered by Subaru approx. 13 years ago after hurricane Katrina came thru. On Sept. 17, 2020, hurricane Sally came thru shutting power down for 3 days. This Husky ran solid for just shy of 72 hours without a hickup. Good investment if you can find one. Highly Recommended.
