It reads kind of like a college book
I received this book as an advanced promotional copy for an honest review. This book covers stretching the body for people just starting to exercised to more experienced trainers. This is more of an academic book and very informative about the benefits gained and how to do the stretches. He writes from personal experience being a personal trainer and health enthusiast. The only negative thing I can say about the book, it is very technical. It reads kind of like a college book. Overall in my opinion it is a good book for any one wanting to get into or back into a training routine.

Learn the proper stretches for more flexabilty and less aching muscles
As a promotional copy participant I was given the opportunity to review Mr. Roberts recent book on stretching workouts. Very informative and educational . I learned how to use a foam roller properly. Three different levels of difficulty are broken down as well as exercises to do while standing, sitting, or kneeling. I have the kindle edition on my phone which is perfect for traveling either to the gym or a hotel. Terminology of the different exercises and pictures are available in a PDF format are a plus.If you are looking for a solution for aching muscles and more flexibility this is the book for you.

Excellent, concise and complete
I found this particular book of Dale Roberts to be complete. It was a bit dry in delivery compared to his other books but saw this as an excellent book for guiding the novice. Also, it could become a teacher's manual down the road with some tweaking. Getting it for 99 cents was a bonus.

Filled A Gap In My Fitness Program
This book will do the most for people that are starting or are already in a fitness program and either skip stretching or don't know how/when to do it. That's something I was struggling with until reading the book and I've noticed differences in my performance and how I feel after my workouts.I liked the straight forward, no B.S., conversational approach that the author takes, it made it much easier to read. At the same time, there was enough specific detail to let me know he had done his homework. The author being a former personal trainer really added value for me, gave me confidence that I could trust what I was reading. The author covering different types of stretching may have been the most useful for me as it pointed out that I was practicing a dangerous form of stretching. To put it bluntly, this book was informative, to the point, in terms everyone can understand and follow, and included detailed pictures for me to model. A few of the pictures were a little dark but that's to be expected with natural light settings, it didn't prevent me from understanding the stretches.Received advanced promotional copy for review purposes.I bought a copy afterwards to keep on my kindle app to use at the gym.

Buy Only If You Have No Internet
I bought this book because I wanted to improve my flexibilty but I am extremely disappointed. The lay out of the book is horrible so you can't look at the "workout" and the pictures of the stretches at the same time. The workout section is extremely lackluster and very vague. It looks like the whole book was copied of a website which it would be better if you just went online and got it for free. Hopefully this book gets improve because the idea of it had potential.

Could have been better
Poorly laid out book in my opinion. Beginning of the book list stretch routines, with the actual stretches listed afterwards (seems backwards to me). More importantly, in the book form, the pictures are very small black and white photos that are challenging to see clearly.

Redefining 40
I've recently started working out and can say being in my forties this has been an interesting challenge in itself. I was in on the beta read, well started actually using some of the stretches for legs and hips. I can honestly say I have greater range of motion when doing squats and walking feels a bit more natural. I do beleive stretching is overlooked, Dale puts everything you need to know with easy to follow exercise.

If you're serious out your health and fitness Get This Book and start The Stretch Workout Plan
I pre-ordered this book last month because I'd heard such good reviews from friends who had purchased Dale L. Robert's previous books and had utilised them to great effect. As lifelong practitioner of Martial Arts, a wildlife photographer (lot's of hiking with equipment) and having an unquenchable thirst for knowledge in the fields of health & nutrition, of which I'm a #1 Amazon author (SIRT FOOD) my conditioning and is very important to me. I've just reached 48yrs old and now more than ever my body requires the thorough but often overlooked pre & post workout that a full stretching routine provides. Combining great nutrition, exercise and especially a calisthenics routine is like adding a premium feul to your immune system. For anyone who is suffering with back pain, arthritis, sports injury or just middle age fatigue & depression improving your nutritional base and exercise should be added to your daily routine. This Workout Plan should be added to your life, whether you're a beginner or advanced student. The exercise workouts are simply, thoroughly explained and require no expensive equipment, you'll feel the improvement in mobility within days, though I warn you to be be prepared for a little muscle soreness at first, this is quite normal and will soon reside.Personally I'd have liked full colour illustrations but I completely understand the this would drive up the purchase price and to honest they really aren't nessasary as the real juice is in the authoritative text. This is solid expert coaching from a real personal trainer. They're a 1000's similar books out and available, I've read quiet a few over the years, most are a real let down, so trust me when I tell you that Dale Roberts is the real deal. If you obtain only one book to guide back to fitness and mobility I recommend you get this one.I look forward to the follow up and will have to dig around in the author's back catalogue.John Hodges[...]

*But* the routines are really good. Just make sure you have a foam roller ...
The book has the feel of being from the 1980s. *But* the routines are really good. Just make sure you have a foam roller as well.

A truly comprehensive stretch workout plan for people of all abilities!
Thank goodness the author wrote this book. As a person who suffers from cerebral palsy, finding ways to improve my flexibility is paramount. It's the difference between being able to get out of bed and walk with my walker and staying home. Dale's stretch workout wasn't specifically designed for people with disabilities however. Fitness aficionados will definitely benefit from it. I just adapted the exercises to fit my own capabilities. Anybody who is serious about working out from home and needs a simple way to do it should consider picking up this handy little Kindle book. A truly great read!
