This is one of those “why didn’t I think of that” kind of products! Great pairing of a science icon like Bill now with an emerging trend like virtual reality! My sons been begging for a VR since last year and this seems to have cured it for $60 versus a fancy $400 headset (not to mention the educational value here)!!

We have 2 boys and of course love bill nye so this felt like a no brainer, I was a little worried about the vr aspect as we are trying to get away from screen time but this does a good job of pushing them to do the hands on things and build and grow experiments before letting them put the vr goggles back on and then even with that the vr stuff is short and sweet so they aren’t trapped behind the screen for long before coming back to learn another activity so we are super happy nice work bill!

So, the VR aspect is very cool. The VR is your smartphone, clipped into a headset. So the smartphone + headset = VR. It does not come with a true VR setup.The VR clips are short. I guess so are the experiments but would have been cool if VR clips were longer.There are many things you need to buy or have around the house that do not come with this kit. IE..alka-seltzer tabs, white flowers, dry yeast packet, etc.Would be nice if a list of such items was clearly produced at the beginning you wouldnt realize it on a rainy day when you just want to play scientist with your kid.Overall I give this 3-1/2 stars. Its cool because of VR. The experiments could be more exciting. I have owned better science kits over the years. Not bad for 40-50$

Pretty awesome to learn from Bill Nye in this way, it lets you flip to any of the 30 projects in the book and using your smart phone activates Bill to life and he starts teaching you science step-by-step. My nephews and nieces, of different ages, seem to love it. Best of all, they’re learning new things!

We fully intended on making this a Christmas gift, but with Thanksgiving being apart from our families this year, we decided to open this one early to enjoy over the break. I'm so glad we did! This is not our first "science kit" for kids, but it is by far the best. From the VR interaction with Bill Nye to the premium items included, this was a big hit with our children. With virtual learning and science in particular tough for them this year, this kit really helped bring some excitement back to learning from home. Thanks, Bill!
