It is as described. did not use it yet but I did pull a BCG out of an AR and it DOES reach to the bottom of the bolt carrier with about 1/16 inch to spare. I read reviews that said that it did not. I can't speak for them and don't know what their lookin' at (5.56 or 7.62) but it works and fits ok on mine ( brand new upper w BCG).
