Great follow-up to a great product
I've been a satisfied user of the original Apogee Jam for quite some time now. It's been a reliable performer for me for years, now.I bought the JAM 96k for its Windows compatibility. I'm primarily a Windows user in my personal life (I use Macs for work). It's nice to be a little less tied to my iPad for my music. I'm not the most demanding user out there, but for what I do, it has been about perfect. It's incredibly easy to use, and it gives me a clean recording. It gives me everything I've come to expect from its predecessor.

I recommend this item with a VERY big caveat
Buyer beware: I had a hard time determining what to rate this product. I recommend this item with a VERY big caveat. This jam ships with an older version of the firmware that is incompatible with iOS 11. If you intend to use this with an iPad (separate cable purchase required, which is another issue entirely), you will either have to have an older version of iOS or update the firmware. Updating the firmware wouldn’t be. A problem, except for the fact that the updates IS ONLY ABAILABLE FOR MAC. So this is a product marketed for windows users, but the software required to maintain it is only available on Mac. I had to contact Apogee support to learn this after my iPad was not recognizing the device. When I told that the updated was only available on Mac, I told them I only had a PC. Support said that a windows version was “in the works,” but they could not provide a timeframe. They then asked me, I kid you not, if I had any friends that had a Mac I could borrow(which, as it turns out, I did) I have a hard time recommending the Jam based on this. However, once i got it working, it was exactly as advertised. So, based on how it was out of the box, this is a 1 Star product. When it’s up and running, it’s a 5. This my 3 star rating.

Great interface
I’ve been using the JAM 96k with my iPad Pro running Amplitube. No problems at all and beautiful sound quality. Great for night time headphone practice and for recording song ideas. Electric guitar and bass

I find this to be the best available at the size
I bought this so I can make rough tracks to laptop when I have sudden ideas, or when I’m messing around with rough guitar and bass tracks in Logic Pro on the couch. For that purpose, I find this to be the best available at the size. I didn’t want to buy another “desktop” A/D unit for the living room, where I do a lot of rough work. But, it’s noisy, especially if you touch it. Gain control is not tight. And of course it’s only 96k, so you might consider something more robust for actual recording. It does what I expected at the price and size. Just wish it was less noisy in the situation where I use it.

Love the tone
I waited and waited to get an Apogee product for Windows, I am a CuBase user, finally I have it. Love the tone, ease of use. I've tried other deives fro my guitars but nothing compares to this little beauty..

Single cable only.
Ok so everything I read about this indicated that it could easily connect to an iPad, not so. What you get is one USB cable. I don't know how we are supposed to connect to an iPad but I can assume I will need to shell out more money for another cable or adaptor. I guess I wouldn't mind if this was made clear in the beginning. sighhhh.... ok where's my wallet

Portability without fidelity compromise!
Brilliant product! Can't believe this unit can make such a crazy difference in the sound of a guitar. High fidelity electronics, try bringing a mobile phone upto 3 feet away and you'd get the RF hum from the device, that's the astounding transparency of the device. The most important thing is it works with Asio4all which means you can connect any I/o device and internally configure the I/o don't settings on your DAW.Clearly a winner!
