So we also shaved a small rectangle on our dog’s necks where the collar prongs would go and it worked much better then just using the longer prongs

Is there a lanyard or bracelet or some thing to secure the correction device so you don't drop it?

Yes it has a lanyard with it. Love this product. We only use the buzz button. Works better than the shock function.
