Thank God It's Natural Rose Water Defining Styling Gel

Brilliant for style but goes white if not washed out the same day

I have 3A white girl curls, very tight coils but the individual hairs are fine and easy to frizz. This gel has been the best for creating a good (yet soft) cast without weighing my curls down. It makes a bit of a cast, but not enough to need a full hard scrunch-out. I use this on my 'wash and go' days, where I don't feel like individually styling each curl and spending an hour diffusing. :) My only gripe is that the gel is thick, and the pump style makes it hard to get more than one full pump out. I often just empty it into an old tub-style jar to make that easier.

Value for money.

The product itself is a good one but does not work for my dry type 4a/b hair. Their is a slight serum like feel before drying down (drying time seems accelerated by the product). After drying there is zero softening, moisturized, or emollient feel to the hair. Also, no significant crunch but definite hold.

Full disclosure: I'm white, I have wavy 2b hair, and I use this in a very shortened version of the curly girl method. I was a little hesitant to try this product because I was worried it would have a strong rose scent, but it smells very light and the scent doesn't linger. The texture is nice too, like a facial serum. I flip my head over after my hair has been re-dampened and scrunch into the ends. Letting it air dry after gives me really nice results: soft waves without using heat, very little frizz (i'm naturally frizzy unfortunately), and it almost always holds throughout the day. Highly recommend if you're new to the curly girl method, or just want something light and uncomplicated to add to your haircare routine :)

Love the texture of this gel and how it makes my curls pop. This light weight gel does not require much to be effective.
