Stop looking for anchors just breakdown and spend the money, it's worth every penny.
OK, Stop looking for anchors, this is the one your going to end up buying. Other expensive junk weight anchors will only waste your money and valuable lake time. Yes, this is the most expensive anchor on Amazon but please learn from our mistakes. Anchor lesson 101 you 100% get what you pay for. You just spent $30K, $50K, $70K+ on your new boat, spent a little more so you can enjoy it. The only to describe this anchor is to tell you about our 25' monster pontoon kite balloon. It's a huge wind eating monster that lives to drag expensive anchors around the party cove and give me ulcers. Going to cove was STRESSFUL, we weren't able to set and we ended up having to reset our old anchor over and over again. Before we bought our last anchor anchor we did our homework. We learned about scope, heavy chain leaders, the proper design for lakes in area and getting the right weight for our boat. We decided to save $50 and we bought the Greenfield-Rickter 18#. Sure its looks like a great anchor but its very similar design to all the other anchors that don't work very well. After several weekends trying to make it work, it just couldn't contain the party beast in more than a 5 MPH wind. The last straw was when we spent another frustrating afternoon drifting into other boats, my wife and I screaming at each other and my poor kids were crying, it wasn't a good day. We got home that night and decided to spend the money on the Box Anchor. About the Box Anchor, the first thing you'll notice is it looks less like an anchor and more like a medieval torture device. The design is a big departure from all other conventional anchors. Guess what the dam thing is amazing because it lacks the design flaws of other expensive weights. First time out with the Box Anchor went like this, we opened the anchor compartment, dropped the anchor, attached it to our bow and partied like rock stars. Yep, it's just that simple folks. This amazing anchor is about as close to perfect as you can get. Stop looking, put it in your cart and start enjoying your boat. BTW our old Grenfield-Richter will be on Craigslist soon if you waste your time and money too. Cheers!

The anchor works !
Of note ... I hardly ever write a review on Amazon products ... but I am sufficiently impressed with this product to offer a review. After a few years of struggling to get my anchors to catch in alpine lakes, I 'took the plunge' on this anchor ... having relied on previous reviewers of the product. The anchor works. I had struggled to get prior anchors to properly dig and hold in soft, sandy-bottom lakes as the afternoon winds would pickup and introduce 2-4 ft wave action. Prior years were marred with memories of the Mrs. stressing over the boat drifting toward other anchored boats ... never trusting the anchor holds and causing significant strife every boating afternoon. After a week of using this box anchor for use in varying depths (10-60 feet) of water, in varying wave and wind conditions .... I can personally attest to the effectiveness of this anchor. It digs in quickly and firmly. Mate it with a few feet of chain to provide sufficient lead weight to drag it horizontally when in tension ... and this anchor 'catches' ... very, very well.Completely satisfied with the purchase. And, for reference purposes, I oversized my purchase and ordered the 'large' anchor ... even though I only use a 22' boat.

Nice Anchor
Holds my 20' pontoon in place regardless of wind. Better have some muscle on you to pull it up.

Works great on 24’ tritoon
I bought this product because my traditional anchor didn’t even pause the drift of my 24 foot tritoon. Depending on the waters, you’re dealing with. You’ll also need to consider about 6 foot of chain at the base connecting to the anchor and always double the length of rope (in feet). depending on the depth of your anchors. I would recommend this to anyone!

Great hold
24 foot pontoon. Held it steady in breezy conditions. Can be a bit heavy with all the muck it lifts up but the hold is worth it.

Best anchor in the industry.
Just do it! I read all the other reviews, I was skeptical and then I thought, damn, I have a big boat (Cobalt 272) that cost a lot of money and I'm tired of staring at a tree or rock on shore to keep an eye on that object to see if we are drifting! I would look at other boats that were not moving and I'm slowly drifting away or into another boater at party cove. I boat at bigger lakes near Kansas City like Lake of the Ozarks, Table Rock so primarily mud filled lakes, not much sand. This anchor is the best in the industry! If you're looking to set it and forget it, this is the one! It's heavy to pull up from the bottom of the lake but it grabs and holds every time no matter what the wind conditions are. The peace of mine this anchor provides once you found your favorite spot on the water is priceless.

Best anchor ever for lakes! Perfect for a 24’ pontoon
I just bought a 24’ pontoon that in the first day in the lake with a light breeze in a shallow cove caused me to reset my Danforth anchor 8 times, getting in the way of the fun. So after doing some research I decided to spend the extra money and buy this anchor. I purchased the larger one because I didn’t want another weekend ruined by anchor frustrations and the extra cost is minimal. It worked perfectly! I dropped the anchor once!!! And even on a windier day never had to worry about it again! I highly recommend this anchor. Worth every penny! Also, no chain required like other anchors.

This thing holds
Love this anchor, struggled for 2 years to keep my 25 foot tri-toon held in place with a normal anchor. Toss this thing overboard and stay in the same spot all day, easy to retrieve as well and folds flat for storage. Buying a second one for the back of the boat to prevent wind milling in large groups.
