Love the candy, but watch those calories and fat!
I love this candy. For me, it's got just the right amount of hardness balanced with chewiness. It's fairly hard when you start on it and then becomes more pliable when you clomp on it a few times with your molars. No other caramel candy, including those with sugar (and I've tried many of them), have this same balance. So compared to a soft caramel, it lasts much longer, but it still has that chewy excitement that is missing from sucking on a hard caramel candy. It also has excellent caramel flavoring, which is subjective of course.Being sugar-free is great too, but don't kid yourself; the heavy cream, milk, butter, syrup and sugar alcohols (6 grams per candy) in this candy is significant. These have 30 calories per piece, which is actually pretty high for such a small candy, and they are quite fatty as well (.75 gram of total fat and a half gram of saturated fat per piece). But of course, that's partly why they are so tasty. I have to restrict myself to a few pieces a day, otherwise I'd eat 20 a day (that would be 600 calories and 15 grams of fat -- that's more calories than three Taco Bell Crunchy Taco Supremes -- which at least have protein)! As long as you realize you are not avoiding many calories by eating this candy compared to full-sugar candies, go ahead and enjoy. At least the net carbs are zero because of the sugar alcohols, so for people on low-carb, high-fat diets, these might be awesome for you! Bottom line for me, I love caramel and this is my all-time favorite caramel candy.

A winner when properly stored at home
I confess to having tried to buy every sugarless caramel sold on the Web over the last decade, and Nips has bested them all for natural, true caramel flavor and value.I learned not to store Nips' bags in the manufacturer's cardboard box they come in after some bagfuls ended up tasting like cardboard by one hot summer's end. Since storing them instead inside a plastic grocery bag or simply loose on a cupboard shelf in my hot old kitchen, even "prodigal" bags have not deteriorated.

Sticky Mess
Have finished my box of the packages. Feel it is safe to say the packaging needs a lot of work. ALL the bags were a sticky mess, some candies not even wrapped, most had to be pried off of each other. Then you had to carefully work the candy wrapper off, many times in little pieces, to get to the candy. Each time ended up with hands being a sticky mess and anything it was near, a mess as well. For that reason, do not plan to buy again. In terms of the candy taste/texture. They are hard at first, soften as they are in your mouth. Good flavor, however careful having too many or you will have gastric distress.

very tasty but sticky mess
the candy is GREAT. But for some reason each piece is a sticky mess! just try and pry the individual pieces apart, snd then try to open without having your hands all sticky! I've never bought these in the store, so I can't say if it's inherent to the product or how this particular case was stored. But it's a challenge! Every bag is a lump of fused candy that you need to pry apart. Other than that- I love the taste!

Really good sugar free candy
This is actually very tasty for sugarless candy and I like the idea we can buy it in quantity as it is so much less expensive then buying them in individual bags, one at a time.My only issue with this, is the candy was very melted, making it very difficult to take the wrapper off, and almost half the candy was ruined. I do not know if this was from shipping or what, so I did not take off for that, but I certainly would nit buy this candy to be delivered during the summer. :)The taste again is great![...]

If Eating at Work Limit Intake to Avoid Flatulence
I would give 5 stars because I love these, but if you eat too many your will get really gassy and an upset stomach. It’s worth the risk in private- probably not if you are at work.

Usually great but this time...
These make a great laxative which is why I buy them. Tasty and convenient. No messy powders or big drinks of liquid needed. This batch, however, was not fresh and nearly every candy has a firmly stuck wrapper due to heat melting the candy slightly. It's been hovering in the teens at night locally so either these are old or were shipped via donkey from Uzbekistan. I learned the hard way these weren't fresh when half a molar stuck to the candy. So now I'm blocked up with a broken tooth

a sweet that is sugar free
as an incipient diabetic I am always on the alert for sugar free products, in this case, a sweet treat with few calories as well - when my local grocery store quit carrying them, I turned to Amazon where buying in bulk is less expensive than buying individual packages was at the store - I particularly like the fact that one piece of candy lasts a long time, satisfying any cravings for sweets without the sugar. Other sugar free products have occasionally caused stomach upset but not the caramel Nips
