Rina and Mac return.
I was a little disappointed with this story. It was a continuation of book one, taking us on a rapid roller coaster as some of the ends left hanging were addressed and developed.I found the number of characters and their loyalties a little confusing as the kidnapping plot developed alongside other dastardly deeds.Rina and her household are great fun and beautifully drawn as is the development of George as he learns to live his new life. Not too convinced by the police elements but an enjoyable read, if not in the same league, for me, as book one.

Another engrossing tangled web of murder and mayhem.
Rina has fast become one of my favourite sleuths, and together with Mac will continue to bring us more exciting murder mysteries I hope. This was particularly heart rending because it involved the kidnap and sometimes murder of helpless children, but the background story of little George was especially poignant, a child who had endured year's of abuse from his brute of a father, only to find himself alone in the world.Until he met Rina and Mac.

Great continuation story
But could be read as standalone. My feeling is its best to read the first book in the series,. Again I thought the plot and the character developments were excellent. Have a feeling this will be a good series. Loving Rina Martin and her quirky set up at home, and Mac is developing into an interesting character. Don’t be put off by the cosy genre, as some of it is far from that!

A good read
This is a series that you need to read in sequence as the plot and the characters develop from book to book. I really am enjoying them and I just wish Joffe Books would hurry up publishing them n ebook format!

A Good sequel !!!
Interesting storyline with a good set of characters and plenty of suspense throughout leading to a frantic but satisfactory outcome

Brilliant characters
I love the characters in this series. I want to go to dinner at Rina’s house. Give George a big hug and watch Mac fall in love. Storyline got a little hard to follow and a bit frantic near the end, but this is a character driven series.

Highly intriguing
A body is found washed up on the Dorset beach, but dead not from drowning but from a bullet in the head. DI Sebastian McGregor and his friend Rina, on looking into this death, discover a series of unreported crimes. Most entertaining.
