The Hundred Decker Bus

My son's favorite book!

I happened to pick up this book at a children's book store recently and my 5 year old son is thrilled with it. It's imaginative, funny, full of adventure and complete with really detailed and creative illustrations.

My toddler likes everything about vehicles, so I decided to add an imaginative story on bus to his library. But I must say I could not understand author's imagination. It's a bit weird to imagine a ferry or a swimming pool on top of a bus whose driver is bored of routine and wants to have an adventure. Also my toddler did not find the book engaging.

My 4 year old grandson loves buses and loved this book!

A truly lovely colourful and fun read - witty and imaginative to the last page. There is so much to look out with each illustration having a 101 characters and little details. I bought the book for my little nephew who is bonkers about buses so he will adore this - and be over the moon with the pull out page!! My only comment is that the pull out page is perforated, so I'm not too sure how long it will stay attached to the book - but perhaps that's the point. Overall a beautiful and original book and highly recommended.

My grandkids love this book. Super fun adventure we get to take on the 100 Decker bus. The fold up page is great!

I read this story to my Reception class as part of our topic on transport. It has bright, colourful illustrations with lots of things for the children to spot and discuss. The story itself is lovely and lends itself to lots of different literacy activities. It centres around a bus driver who one day decides to take a different route. As more and more people want to ride the bus, they begin to add more decks.The large, pull out picture of the bus was particularly popular-but beware, it is a bit flimsy!
