This kit is a fabulous way to begin spinning fiber. My fiber friends spoke very favorably of this kit when I brought it to them to look at. Not to mention that they all loved the suitcase carrying case. The spindle is well-balanced and I've been having great success at spinning.

I'm totally new to spinning and tried a few different spindles, instructions books, and wools. This kit has the easiest to use spindle and clearest instructions. The carrying case is super cute, and the wool is easy to draft.

This spindle and roving set exceeded expectations. It’s my first spindle I didn’t make myself and it spins so wonderfully. The roving is pretty and nice to spin and of course the adorable little suitcase keeps all my work out of the way nicely. So, so happy with this.

i went gatlinburg an saw how they this wanted to learn but the kit was more than i wanted to pay. there price .t they did have to combing paddles in there's but saw this and thought it would be great for learning. wish there were better instructions having to use YouTube. but i am happy. and it has a cute little case to keep it in

I was so excited when I got this kit. The box is beautiful, the fibers are gorgeous colors. I was going to an outdoor weekend with girlfriends and I thought this would be something I could do while my friend was knitting. I had no access to the internet, so I was learning based on these instructions, and I hadn't watched any youtube on how to do it. I did make something... its technically yarn, but this was really hard to do with this fiber and spindle and only written instructions. I didn't have any background on plying so I was just building up this one ply yarn and not sure what to do with it when the spindle was full or how to deal with the twist.On return home I have watched numerous videos and have learned a couple things... 1) my spindle wobbles when it spins, a lot. From the first spin to the last. It should have little wobble. 2) the length of the fibers is pretty short, maybe 4 inches and this makes it really hard to draft as a newbie.If you get a kit with a better/non-wobbly spindle and you are internet-connected for tutorials I think you will have a better experience than I did. The box is beautiful and I am sure I will be able to use the fibers as I progress in the craft or loose in a weaving class I am taking.

As a serious crocheter, I’ve been eyeing drop spindling for a few years. I finally decided to buy myself an early Christmas present. It arrived a few days later than expected, but I immediately jumped in when it got here. Day one was a DISASTER. I was utterly defeated. My “yarn” was chunky and ugly. It didn’t have any definition, and I was eyeing the reviews going…what the heck? I didn’t give up, finally figuring out that I wasn’t drafting properly. I am so happy that this kit provides plenty of “practice” wool, because what you see in the picture is day TWO. I’m on day four now, and my draft skills have increased immensely! I can’t wait to see how much progress I make in the next few months. It’s utterly calming and the wool provided is perfect for newbies. I promise, I have literally never spun fibers until I opened this kit, and I made usable yarn within 24 hours. If you’re interested, give it a go! You won’t regret it!Back to write a second review! I’m at the end of week one, seen in the second picture of this review. This isn’t the wool provided, but this kit gave me the confidence and practice I needed to continue onto other fibers.

I absolutely love this box, it comes with everything you need to start learning how to spin. I did have one issue, the dowel of the drop spindle I received was warped, causing the spindle to wobble excessively. I contacted the company & they immediately sent a replacement. They were beyond amazing to work with, very polite & understanding. Replacement drop spindle arrived a few days later & is perfect.

I got this for my sister for Christmas and she loved it. She loves knitting and crocheting and has always wanted a spindle. I got her this and she loves it, and loves the yarns. It's very easy to keep everything organized in the adorable box it all came in as well.

i kind of planned or had hoped for a pink case, i got blue. this was okay, it was made of a card board anyways but reusable for knitting and storage etc. i am very beginner to spinning so this kit was very utmost handy. i liked it for it was merino wool, as a knitter i knew this was very good quality yarn to knit with, however as a spinner i later found out it is okay but as a beginner probably not the best fibre to start out with... it was a challenge to get tension as it was slippery but yes this spinning thing is my thing and is it is fun also i believe this is a top whirl for starters but could be doubled as both? but im not too positive although it does have a bottom whirl groove on it... i have not tried bottom whirling on it yet as it looks more challenging. the one other problem i find with the flower top is that it doesn't have a groove on the top for a feed or indent like i thought it might.... so sometimes when out in the front it unhooks itself and is frustrating then i have to rehook it again... i think if i were more less well new at this i would get a spindle with a groove in it and a weighted base... it is a nice spindle it just kind of stops spinning int he middle of it all but yeah it does work just not sure if it is the best spindle out there for a beginner like myself... i am very pleased this kits exists though otherwise i would have never started to spin!!!

So happy with the quality and the lovely gift. Surpassed my expectations!
