The Greatest Thieves in Lankhmar Box Set

This box set re-creates the adventure Goodman Games ran at Gen Con 2019 which is quite historically interesting. However, I would be very careful with buying this box set, based on what you get vs what you might actually want. The vast majority of items in the box are play aids (tokens, counters, a map, 2 guides to running it tournament style, one for the Judge and one for the players). All of this is nice and really allows you to experience a tournament style game at home. Again, however, the actual adventure is only 68 pages long. There is also a supplemental mini adventure which is 13 pages long. So, all told, you will be paying $60 (current price on Amazon) for 81 pages of actual adventure. Personally, now that I actually have it in my hands, I would have preferred a longer adventure and much fewer aids, but I guess that is on me for not having experienced a tournament before. The Judge's Guide is an especially odd duck since it gives you a breakdown of all teams and judges for the live tournaments (and their "killed by Judge ratio"), in addition to giving you the tournament rules. This is historically interesting, but not something that I actually wanted to pay money for. On the plus side, the whole box set is extremely well made and all the aids are very durable, as all Goodman Games box sets are. So, to sum up, if you want to recreate a live tournament at home, this is great. If you want a full, meaty adventure you might be a little disappointed, especially since the adventure is 90% solving puzzles and traps.
