1. What is Espumisan® L and what it's used for Espumisan® L is a drug against swelling and a feeling of fullness in the abdomen. Increased formation and accumulation of gases or bowel in the form of retail bubble froth leads to symptoms such as bloating and a feeling of fullness in the abdomen. This is the reason for colic in infants, which are common complaints encountered in about 1/3 of infants. Colic starts a few days after birth and continues until about the third month. It's found both in infants and in those fed with formula. Colic usually start during the same time of the day, oftenly afternoon and at night, with a suddenly strong cry. The child's face reddens, legs shrink to the belly, and the arms are in fists. The child is irritable, excited, restless. Espumisan® L doesn't influence digestion and does not change the acidity in the stomach. Espumisan® L is used when: All diseases accompanied by increased formation and accumulation of gas in the gastrointestinal tract (flatulence), accompanied by symptoms such as discomfort, swelling, feeling of heaviness and fullness in the abdomen; colic in infants; excessive intake of air, as for the intake of food and drink leading to increased formation of gas (beans, cabbage, carbonated drinks); heart complaints as a result of upward movement of the diaphragm due to accumulation of gas in the gastrointestinal tract; preparation of the abdominal cavity for imaging (X-ray, ultrasound etc.) and as an addition to the contrast medium in double-contrast radiography; poisoning with detergents (tensides). 3. How to take Espumisan® L Infants: Kids between 1-6 years: 1ml (equivalent to 25 drops) Espumisan® L, 3-5 times a day. Kids between 6-14 years: 1-2ml. (equivalent to 25-50 drops) Espumisan® L, 3-5 times a day. Teens and Adults: 2ml. (equivalent to 50 drops) Espumisan® L, 3-5 times a day.
