Well-insulated, light, and comfortable
These are great, and unlike any other Under Armour (or similar) long sleeve/turtleneck I’ve owned before. Unlike most moisture-wicking clothing, they have an extra internal layer to provide a layer of insulation, and the result is surprisingly warm yet very breathable. It’s not especially wind-resistant, but I wouldn’t expect it to be. I wore this for a long run under a *very* light windbreaker (which I believe to be an ideal pairing for wind + insulation + moisture wicking) in 15F weather with snow and relatively high winds, and I was more than warm enough. I was actually sweating, but this also kept me dry very effectively despite being thicker. Aside from thermals, the fit is excellent, materials feel luxurious and premium, it seems well-made and durable, and the internal lining is very comfortable on the skin. I love it for winter running and intend to make it my base layer for skiing. I highly recommend this as a bottom layer for any cold weather sports.

NICE SHIRT
When this arrived, I didn't understand why this fit so much looser than the one I've had for several years. Then I did a little research, and realized there are more than one type of UA Cold Gear in turtleneck. My old one is a Compression style, hence the tightness, while this is a Fitted one.So, if you want a little looser, this is the one, but if tight, order the Compression, which Amazon also has available. The tightness of the Compression is not for some, but I like it, because it's warmer, closer to the skin, and unobtrusive under shirts and sweaters, having no excess fabric, i.e. folds, ripples or bulges. The worst part of this one is that the neck is loose, and nothing looks goofier than a saggy, flacid turtleneck, IMO.The Compression model fits tightly to the neck, and looks very sharp.I will be ordering the Compression soon, and just give this one away, probably, as I already washed it, before realizing.

Excellent base layer
I wore this snowboarding in a snowstorm at Breckenridge over Christmas. It’s snug but not tight and not a compression shirt. So it doesn’t restrict movement or make you feel like you’re being squeezed. I found it to be warm and the mock turtleneck kept the snow and chill out even in the whiteout conditions. It’s nice and long, too, so it stays tucked in even when shredding aggressively.I’m 5-11 and 170, and the medium was a good choices. A large might have been less snug, but I probably would have had bacon neck around the collar. The medium was just right, especially around the neck.
