Almost impossible to use and fell apart. One of the handles wouldn't lock and one of the pins holding the jaws together fell out. Ruined $300 worth of valves and fittings. Of the first 12 fittings sealed 11 leaked and the last one just dripped. Unfortunately, I ordered tool several months before I actually needed it so I can't even get my money back. WARNING!!! Don't buy this under any circumstances.

I've sweat a lot of pipes over the years but on occassion there is water in the pipe and sweating it becomes near impossilbe. When that happens you can resort to the old bread trick (doesn't always work) run down to the local hardware store for a sharkbite or use this tool and a propress fitting. While I've had good luck wiht sharkbite fittings I don't feel comfortable using them in a wall or ceiling the way I do with a propress fitting. Unfortunately however I can't justify spending $2000 on a power tool so this tool will come in handy. The tool is well made, works well but can be a bit unweildly in some situations due to its size and weight. It comes with the 3 most common size dies 1/2, 3/4 and 1 inch that are easily inserted into the jaws which can be rotated 360 degrees. The only negative comment I can make about this other space limited due to its size is that the handles have to be opened about half way before the jaw clamp can be released to put it around the fitting which further limits its ability to be used in confined spaces

This is a good kit for crimping on those copper pipes with the o-rings built in. Thing is, it is long and can move your crimp, and I found that having a set of hands hold it in place is sometimes required. This is a much cheaper alternative than the ratcheting electric one you can get though. When I had my new boiler installed I saw that electric one in use and it was much quicker but looking at the price this is much cheaper though does the job very well. The handles telescope but I found it became even more unwieldy when they are extended. Always check your crimp after you release as pinched copper material as it is a sign of a bad crimp or wrong size used.
