Better to have an not need, than to need and not have!
Very lightweight. Yes, it's lightweight and not for multiple uses. I have another poncho for that.I just keep this in my backpack for that unexpected rain...if you've ever been caught in one, it's not an experience you want to repeat. Biking, hiking--it's always there and weighs so little, it's not a burden to have. Packs very small.Have used only once so far. What I could tell: it was indeed quite warm, and quite voluminous. Will easily go over a large backpack. Dried it off and re-packed it. So it can be multi-use with some care.

Life saving piece of equipment packaged very well
Love the water proof and reflective attributes to help preserve body temp. The cylindrical bag it comes in makes packing and brining along so easy. I recommend to all my clients whom consult with me on international travel safety to have one each because Mr Murphy can show up anytime

Not perfect, but effective at an amazing price.
Background: I live in LA and am *not* used to the cold. I bought this for an upcoming camping / wildlife photography trip and just tested it when we got a winter storm (high 40s, low 50s / wind / rain).Pros: this thing is super cheap, super light and compact, and it really works. As a test, I did some computer work outside wearing it, with nothing but shorts and a t-shirt underneath (and bare feet!). It was cold enough to see my breath. I sat out there comfortably for a good hour and could have gone all day with just a pair of socks. I actually took off the hood because I started getting too hot.The cons: I thought the drawstring was going to be around the bottom, but alas, no, it's just around the top of the carrying bag. Without some solution to cinch the bottom, the wind comes right in and you're cold again. Also, this thing is not stealthy. It's basically like wearing a shiny orange trash bag, and you make crinkle noises with every move. Between that and the high-visibility look, I'll probably scare off any creatures I'm trying to observe. Granted, this is marketed for survival, not sneaking around, so that may not be an issue for others. But unfortunately I'll need a different solution. This would be ideal for things like going to cold-weather sports games. Broncos fans, take note!

Emergency Protection
A bit smaller than a beverage can, this poncho is a must-have for a car emergency kit--for handling that roadside issue in the rain, or in the cold. The Mylar keeps your loss of body heat minimal, and if you know how, the poncho can easily be turned into a makeshift shelter. Just wish it had grommets on the four corners and on the edge at the shoulder level, but can add those myself.

great to have on hand
Got caught in some rain recently with no shelter, these saved the day. certainly goofy looking on, but they do the trick, wouldn't hesitate to purchase again

perfect for the wet west coast in canada - I use for hiking on cool raining days and when camping and they work great, keep you dry and warm

Eathquake zone.
Winter is almost here which means a LOT of rain incoming! Have not used the ponchos yet, but they're in our earthquake kits. Very compact and light. Prompt arrival. (Whistle is loud).
