Hello Could you confirm if the centre column can be removed for macro and low shooting photography. Thanks

The centre column is separate to the main tripod. So can be used either way. Just attach ballhead to the tripod or column. The column just give extra height to the tripod. For low level Macro work just open the legs until they are nearly flat. I have used it that way, and it was fine.
