Gets message across with unusual technique.
Great book. Bought after watching road rage videos (Middle-aged male motorists versus cyclists) and wanting to understand the repeated red mist behaviours.Using understandable stories the author gets the main point across. This format repeated for each chapter to really drive point home. This repetition felt like some kind of NLP technique.Bought copy for nephew training as ski instructor so he'd be able to use his rational brain in an emergency. Leant my copy to builder friend to help him stop site fights breaking out amongst reptile-brained sub contractors.

Interesting but more of an academic study than a gripping read
The case studies were very interesting but the analysis was written too academically for my liking. It was quite a 'dry' book but certainly provided valuable information on the 'mind-set' of survivors.

Everyone wants to read this
At first I thought this book wasn't that good, but after reading it more it becomes one of the most fascinating book about survival I have ever read. The book draws in psychology and neuroscience, its a great book for anyone who interested in why some people die whilst others live. I haven't actually got this book at the moment because everyone I know wants to read it, i just hope the book can survive all that reading

Great book. Even if your not an adventurer
Great book. Even if your not an adventurer, towards the end it explains how the skills to survive can be used in everyday life, dealing with everyday situations.
