The ‘try me’ button located through a plastic window on the front of the packaging did not work when the item was delivered. I assumed the demo batteries had run out so wasn’t particularly worried about that. However when the item was unwrapped on the day of my daughters birthday and when new batteries were about to be inserted it was discovered that the demo batteries had in fact leaked battery acid inside the toy. With hindsight, I do wish we had checked this before wrapping up but this was not possible due to the lengthy time process involved in removing the horse from the box. We cleaned up the mess inside the battery compartment and new batteries were inserted and after a few attempts the toy did start to work. However not all modes of play worked. The fun play mode button at the rear of the horse didn’t work and so there was no music or dancing with this toy. And the sensors that allow you to touch the horse in particular places to trigger a movement or response didn’t work at all well if at all at times.This item was bought as an upgrade on the Barbie Saddle and Ride Horse and I have found with these toys from experience that normal batteries can result in the horses movements being a bit slower than it should be and they can be unstable resulting in the horses legs buckling and the horse falling over sometimes. I noticed that a lot of customers have reported this in the reviews.It is worth noting that the toy will only walk on hard, flat surfaces like a tiled, wooden or limo floor with success. In addition, I have found the falling over issue on hard floors has been resolved when using the extra power batteries. However, unfortunately it didn’t resolve the other issues we had with this horse and so it was returned and another one was ordered.This idea of an interactive horse toy is a great idea if only it worked as it should and sadly that doesn’t seem to be the case for the majority of customers in these reviews. Very disappointing when you consider the price paid for this toy.

I got the Dream Horse for my 7 yr old grandaughter for christmas .It is well made and Zoe loved brushing it however it is rather unstable and kept falling over . Perhaps it had been sipping the trifle sherry . Its a shame its not more stable it would then be perfect and I would buy myself one and I’m 73 .. I don’t regret buying it, it was discounted at the time , I’d just like to see the model tweaked . Zoe took it home with her so i cant play with it until next summer .

Amazing toy wish I had one when I was a kid! My daughter loves it!

Wow this is such an amazing product. The horse rides around the house and doesn't fall over etc. I was sceptical at first as some fall over or don't work as well as you'd hope a but this is excellent my daughter aged 5 absolutely loved it's as did all the adults in the family! Excellent quality, especially as I paid the lower Amazon sale price.. but I would have actually paid the full price for this!

This was on our granddaughters 9th birthday wish list and was the item she wanted most. I can do no better than quote what she said about the product:"It’s a lovely toy to play with and the hair is silky smooth and I like to brush it. The button on it lets you talk to it is amazing and it respondsThe only downside is when it’s walking it does tend to fall over"

It is an amazing toy. Worth the money.I don’t think it’s very sturdy because it loses its balance quite a lot.Amusing when it dances and very life like.

I gave this to my granddaughter for Christmas she loved it but it keeps falling over!!!! I wanted to send it back but she would have been heartbroken so she kept itExpensive toy for this flaw !!!!
