The absolute best product for keeping mold away!
This product used to be sold under a different brand name. It was the only mold product I’ve ever found that keeps mold from recurring. I had two 9 ft doors that went to storage and were covered with mold. I removed the mold with their cleaner and used this product (under another Brand name). It has been 15 years and the mold has not returned. So when we had a water leak due to living near the salty gulf coast and copper pipes, I searched everywhere for my favorite product. I couldn’t find it, so tried everything else. Nothing worked. Then I found where my favorite product was sold under a different brand name. I am excited to say that so far it works exactly like it should and always has. Often a company will purchase rights to manufacture a product and change the formula. Not in this case! If you have mold you need to get rid of once and for all - you can count on this product to do the job for you. However, leaks must be repaired first!

Working okay so far
I applied this to some lawn furniture before the winter, and so far it's looking good. The smell was actually better than I expected, and it was easy to apply. I hope in the spring to see much less mildew than I usually do!

low odor, easy to use, seems promising, pour on rag, or get your spray bottle
1 gallon covers a lot of area. I used my own spray bottle, but it appears they make a smaller spray bottle size but I didnt find it for sale on this platform.Directions are clearly seen in product pic, so I wont rehash that. But I do want to emphasize that this is made to be applied to areas AFTER it has been cleaned (and especially cleaned of mold). So use a separate product. Just bleach and water will do.As the name/term suggests, Supestratum is a layer. In essence you are applying a protective layer between object and the environment that otherwise promotes mold and mildew. Over time, the protection will recede but that is dependent on how much traffic the area sees.Seems like it can be used anywhere. The amount of time it protects depends on how much the area is exposed to air, elements, frictions, etc. So an application to a tight spot in an attic will conceivably last 5 years, where as wiping down outdoor furniture may only be good for a couple of months. As they indicated: High traffic (10 weeks), Low traffic (1 year), undisturbed (5 years). That's pretty good no matter the situation. I gave the example of outdoor furniture because that is the first place I used it on. I do some yard clean ups as a job (as well as house cleaning), and I will usually add in a little time toward cleaning the furniture. There is some furniture that just always grows some mold and mildew- a tight weave, firm material. After I scrubbed it all off, I sprayed this all over. I am really hoping this works. Next up, a bathroom in a house I clean. There is always mildew (black) growing in their grout between tiles, and along the calk line. I use a bleach based remover, but it is always back 2 weeks later. This will be easier to tell if it works since I have an idea of how much mildew accumulates normally. This may fall into the 10 weeks protection range. For my own use at home, I have a sunroom with an extra fridge that is old. It sweats a bit, and there will be a sheen of mildew on the doors and the foam seals. I haven't applied this yet, but that is my plan after I clean it all off. I would expect this to fall into the 1 year protection range.Light scent, doesnt make me cough.Price? I dont rate on price. Is it pricy? I dont know. It is a gallon size that provides long lasting protection. What would be a good price? If I need a thing, I buy the thing. This seems to be doing what it needs to, so I will recommend it (actually, already have in real life). We'll see. So far so good. 5 stars unless I experience something that dictates otherwise.

Pricey, but effective for mold prevention; easy to use; low odor
This is a rather unique product. It prevents mold growth on surfaces, and so far has been more effective than anything else I've tried. Note that this is NOT a mold/mildew remover -- you have to first clean the surface to remove any existing mold/mildew before treating it with this product. This company also makes a mold/mildew remover, but I used my usual soap and bleach solution to get rid of the mold/mildew that was there.Usage is very simple. Once the surface is clean and dry, shake the bottle well, then spray a liberal amount of this and let it dry. Although the product is a milky color, it dries clear. A sprayer is not included with the 1 gallon jug, but I had no problems getting the liquid to spray out uniformly using a regular spray bottle. It has a light scent to it that's not objectionable. It's sort of a cleaning product scent that I didn't find bothersome even in a small closed area (bathroom). So far I've used it to treat the underside of exercise mats that are used on bare concrete in the basement. They mildew up fairly quickly given that the basement is pretty humid and the mats are made of a closed cell foam so that there's no air circulation. This has performed better than anything else I've tried. I've also used it for grout and caulk in a bathroom shower. Again, so far it's kept the mold/mildew at bay.The biggest downside is the cost -- it's not cheap. But, a gallon will last me for quite some time, so the cost per use is not too bad. Plus, since I really hate the chore of getting rid of mold/mildew, anything that eliminates that chore is well worth the cost!

Spray and forget
Combatting mold and algae growth is a common issue in the roofing industry. I've dealt with a wide variety of solutions over the years including zinc straps, imbedded polymers, and sprays to combat Aspergillus Niger. The vast majority of those preventative measures use something like Zinc Oxide to prevent new growth. Superstratum uses a smart polymer but the longevity is the same. In the case of a roof or deck, the yearly application of a liquid preventative is certainly effective and this gets 5 stars for that.In the real world of economics and business, a yearly clean with a bleach solution is often cheaper and addresses other contaminants and pollutants. In the roofing business, there's a lot to look at and maintain on a roof so having a yearly visit up there is a good idea. Spraying $40 of chemicals on the roof to prevent mildew stains is within the budget but in time it just won't be enough. Expect to have something cleaned even with use of this product.
