I did a good bit of researching before buying this phone and it's a very, very smart purchase.
11/15/2017UPDATE:Shortly after leaving a good review, the phone started to give me problems. After troubleshooting it was determined to be a software issue. Called HTC several times and they kept promising to help me update the software, but only after trying this or that setting for 24 hours. Then I am informed that I have to contact HTC Singapore, so I do. No response. I have had a software issue with another phone before, and even though the update seemed to fix it, the correction was short-lived. After a few months it was misbehaving again. I was very close to replacing it with another HTC because I really did like it, but after getting the run-around I ended up returning it. Amazon was great about my refund. Not saying I'll NEVER purchase another HTC, but life is too short.I got really tired of paying for Samsung phones, which are very nice but do give you problems just like anything else. So after researching several phones in this price range, I opted for this one. I was wary at first because of the price, but I must say that I am very happy with this phone!Pros: big screen, great display, fingerprint detector is conveniently on back unlike Samsung G Note 5 which is on home button (why?), 4 GB RAM/64 GB ROM with without robbing you, screen turns on easily with simple swipe, dual SIM or 1 SIM and SD card, truly unlocked and not crammed with useless bloatware, really really good signal strength both wifi and provider (H2O which uses ATT) but because it's international it doesn't say 4GLTE rather an H and a 1(this doesn't bother me because like I said reception is excellent!), very good battery life even with heavy use, light weight, Gorilla Glass, lots of flexibility to customize display etc, sound is good-I can hear calls and notifications from other rooms and while in my purse, sound quality with earphones is excellent!, earphone jack is on top, speaker is on bottom instead of back, sounds are loud enough no problem there, call quality is very good, EXCELLENT cameras - I mean it - this phone takes beautiful pictures.Cons: back/sides of phone are plastic which really doesn't bother me because I like the gold trim and my phone stays in a clear soft case (they had to cut corners somewhere to sell this phone for this price), a few features less than higher end phones for example no quick charge, no gallery which is no problem there are plenty of apps that will hold and organize your photos (I recommend QuickPic, good app), terrible keyboard so I downloaded the google keyboard which solved that, fewer folder customization options (I recommend Nova Launcher-great app for customization) and other minor functions but again no biggie because with this much storage you can download whatever you want and customize this phone which I really like!, no mfr warranty but there are others like Square Trade etc., Android 6 (I searched the web for info about upgrade to Nougat 7 but am not finding a definitive yes or no answer or date)So really the pros greatly outweigh the cons. And my phone arrived nicely packaged in a nice box with good HTC earphones and a USA charger. Yes it does have NFC.Overall, in my opinion this phone is an excellent choice, even without a Nougat update. As someone who usually uses more expensive phones, it's almost a relief knowing that I'm not carrying around a phone that costs several hundred dollars and feel like I have to be extra careful because it would be too expensive to replace if something were to happen to it. It's a great phone with fantastic cameras. I would recommend this phone to a friend, and have recommended it to family members. Good luck.Pictures attached, I used the camera in Pro mode with all settings on auto. The pics are sharp and clear.

Excellent phone for the price
Excellent, user friendly as with most android phones, camera quality and screen quality are good, storage space and default HTC sense launcher is handy. It has a nice sleek design and the finger print scanner is quick and accurate. Also if your a music fan the HTC boom audio makes music sound rich. Only drawback is the OS, would have been nice to be running nougat. But for typical users, it wont matter.

Works with US 4G/LTE. Awesome phone, especially for price!
I LOVE this phone. I previously had an HTC Desire Eye and I loved that one so much that I was hesitant to get a new one, but it finally conked out on me. First, let me address some of the other reviews who say this phone doesn't support 4G/LTE. I'm in the US and I use T-Mobile/Metro PCS service. IT WORKS. The moment they turned on the service on this phone, the service and data worked like a charm. The service and speed are exactly the same as in my previous phone which was 4G/LTE and using the same carrier/service. The only difference is that the data indicator icon on the screen has an "H/H+" icon, but I think it's because the phone itself was programmed to work in Asia/Europe, but that's just my theory. The speed/service itself is still running on 4G/LTE. As for the performance on the phone itself, it works flawlessly. No lags. Switches between apps smoothly. The fingerprint scanner is a nice touch. The phone itself is the same size as the iPhone 7, with the same thickness. The set up was so easy when transferring from my old phone to the new. The picture app is as it's billed."PRO". You can actually take RAW images and there is HDR and flash for both front and rear cameras. the 13mp front cam and 20mp rear are a great feature and it also seems to be rare as not too many phones have that combo capacity. The screen resolution and color are great. Obviously not as intense as a top tier Galaxy or iPhone, but it's good enough. Very detailed. The "do not disturb" feature is one of my favorites. The only con I give this phone is that the speaker sound is not great. But if you're like me and usually use earphones or external speakers anyway, this is not a deal breaker. For less than $300, this phone is an incredible purchase and rivals the Samsung Galaxy which I have had several versions of.

Poor connectivitiy
Looks good, but doesn't play well with others.Specifically - bluetooth won't connect to any of my devices; mobile data is pathetically slow on T-Mobile in an area with 4G LTE and good reception (speedtest showing me at about 0.5mbps); and the speed isn't particularly good over WiFi either (speedtest at 10mbps, other phones on same network showing 80+). Reception is worse than the other phones I've had. Battery life is average. So yep, returning this. Didn't get as far as testing out the camera, etc.

AT LEAST i FINALLY DUMPED METRO PCS...
Metro PCS and Tmobile apparently run on the same network. That being said, this phone DID NOT work and I should be mad that I paid $50 to get both phones activated on Metro because that's the service we've had for years (I purchased one HTC for me and one for hubby), all for nothing! We were barely getting calls, barely any internet, etc. We decided to get it checked at AT&T to see if they were compatible, and whaddayaknow-- they work perfectly fine. We've had the phones for a month and I have no complaints so far. Great pics, I love the Android interface. The phone is worth the price (so far)!

Easy access to most features!
I love this device! Although, after two months I am still getting acclimated to all its features. It is so light, slim and stylish! The battery life lasts quite long, and surprisingly charges VERY fast..I had a windows phone (HTC 8) for several years prior to this purchase and will continue to use their devices. Apple iPhone series is not even close to a comparison! My only concern is that I am having trouble finding info on how to troubleshoot because my carrier doesn't sell the phone, so they are no help solving issues..however, I learn something new everyday lol clichè
