OMG Love this harness
I Love this harness. after my 1st purchase and use I now use this for ALL my traps!! Its Sturdy so no worries about breaking loose if caught on something, it holds up well in salt water but best of all NO TANGLES! This Harness Always Pulls UP my 4 door traps, and is heavy enough to LOWER The Doors! when casting. Note: I also use it on my round nets & my two door traps ( I just remove the extra clips). For my cast line I use a parachute 50 yards utility line that I buy the line at wallmart for $6.00 in the camping section- Again- no worries about breaking loose if caught on something & NO TanglesBottom line- Between this harness and the parachute line my 4 door & 2 door traps OPEN and Close properly, My wire ring nets pull up quick and sturdy my crabbing has become so much more fun and productive. I always catch crabs!!! Like I said I use this harness for ALL MY Traps...

Mostly Rustproof
I have to replace my crab harnesses every two years because of rust in metal carabiners. I am stoked that this harness uses extremely durable nylon clasps... the central ring is made of steel but should not rust as much as previous harnesses. The harnesses performs well in Pacific with ~50 pounds of weight per pull.

Convenient, good overall
This harness is easy to use and reasonably durable if your traps aren't too heavy. They do wear out, so it's not a bad idea to back it up with an extra line, especially as it ages. The heavy solid steel ring at the terminus of the arms limits configuration options a bit, so I cut if off with bolt cutters and replaced with a lighter stainless steel quick link. The ring is quite heavy and causes my harness float to partially sink. Also, it doesn't need to be 30x stronger than the plastic carabiners that attach to the trap. However, I'd guess most people will be happy enough with the solid ring.

Great for crab traps
I started crabbing in Florida a few months ago and I bought these harnesses for my Blue Crab traps. I didn't want to spend too much as I'm new to the sport and I want to get a good introductory product.I have been very happy with the harnesses so far. They have held up really well so far after months of use with no breaks in the rope or clips. They attach very tightly to the and I don't feel like they're gonna fall off when I set my traps.I highly recommend these harnesses.

Impressed so much I ordered more!
The harness worked out really well on the 1st of 2 new pots I gave to my husband for his birthday. I made the muste of ordering the yellow line they promoted....I needed a weighted line to keep it”in” the water, this line would float and get into someone’s prop. My mistake buying the rope is we don’t have any use for it and they’re going to charge me $5.99 to return it!

outstanding quality
I ordered these to add to our crab pot system and I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of such an inexpensive harness.

RUST
Works well however after 1 six hour use the main ring showed surface rust , if you’re selling a product intended for use in salt water perhaps you should use better material

Fell apart after less than 4 weeks in the water
The clips on these harnesses literally fell apart after less than 4 weeks in the water. I'm a recreational crabber in southern British Columbia fishing for Dungeness. I have two x 36" commercial style traps. I found the cheaper plastic harnesses just don't hold up with that weight. Not wanting to risk losing my traps, I ponied up for the heavy duty harnesses with the metal clips. I bought two of them.First impression was positive. Taking them out of the packaging they felt quite substantial. I was impressed.I replaced the cheap plastic harnesses on my traps and dropped them again. First time I pulled up the traps the clips were already starting to rust. I kept using them though. Within 4 weeks every one of the 8 clips (2 sets x 4 clips) had deteriorated such that the spring clip just fell off. And it wasn't from overuse. When I pull my traps I only ever release the clip that is holding the lid closed. So most of those clips had never been engaged except for the first time I put them on the traps.Full disclosure: I knew these clips were not stainless steel when I bought them. I knew that over time steel in salt water will eventually end up in the trash. But I expected far longer than 4 weeks.I will be replacing these with something else. I might need to splurge for stainless this time.
