Can be a great product! Don’t hesitate to buy if you diy
I love love love this product! It’s great for the price and it did have a couple rust areas but I had read previous reviews and expected it. But I was prepared! I bought 2 cans of spray undercoating and 4 cans of spray bedlining, taped off the smooth plates (after assembling). Then I applied the undercoating in several coats and let it fully dry and then the bed liner in several coats and let it fully dry, took tape off plates and bam! Beautiful! I’ve now taken it on two trips, one in zero degree weather and one in 100 degree weather and no issues or rust! Love it

Got it early
It is SUPER sturdy and so far is working great. There is a little wind noise but actually less than I thought that there would be. I have to use this to move my daughters around college and from apartment to house, so It will be used big time. I have it on a VW Tiguan 2019. It fits perfectly after I got some cross bars. Had one "wing nut" was a little tight, but I was able to make it work. The seller is very responsive and helpful. It came in about 3 days early so that is great. There was a little dent in on spot from shipping but it has no affect on the use or sturdiness of the rack. I looks great and with the extension covers the entire roof and leaves room for the sun roof to open and close. Great rack!!!

Great design, a couple flaws, but overall satisfied.
Very large and light rack, and it works well. I wish there were more options for mounting it, as the cross bars aren't always the most appealing way to get these on the roof. Regardless, it's a sturdy build. The only major issue I have with it was that the wind-faring plate in the front wasn't secured down very well, and made a heck of a lot of noise with any wind blowing against it. I tightened the screws, which were stripped from the factory, and put some silicone along the edges to make it stop rattling. Other than that, the paint isn't all that strong, and if you scratch it, expect it to rust quite quickly. Still a huge and sturdy roof rack for the price, and I do like how it looks.

A lot of roof rack space for cheap
I installed this roof rack under a ladder rack over the bed of my pick up truck for extra storage. So; not for its exact intended use. But it's exactly what I wanted, and at a good price.I'd like to think I don't suck at putting things together; but I did have to scratch the paint of the basket to install the adjoining braces. (It comes in 3 sections you have to put together) Kind of a "snap" fit on the section braces. Maybe I missed something in the directions..? A bit of black primer spray paint covered the scratches right up.The outer frame is very sturdy. But the bottom bars are made of thinner tubing; and that tubing, between the sections, does not adjoin. It is rated for 180 pounds (if I remember correctly), and I think that is easily reasonable as long as the load is spread out across the roof rack.Good quality all around and good hardware. The finish is not perfect, you can see some of the spot welds on the sheet metal flats through the paint. But for the price, it's a winner.

Decent roof rack
This basket it just ok. I bought this for my mom as a Christmas gift for her jeep renegade. I have one for my vehicle that I bought from eBay that I like much better. It didn’t come with instructions so I had to look at the picture on Amazon to figure out how the hardware was supposed to go on to secure it. People were saying it rusts quickly and that is probably due to it being made of steel. I clear coated it before putting it on the vehicle so we shall see how that holds up. I also don’t like how the middle section has gaps between the front and back sections, I would much rather they slide into each other. If you zoom in on the middle part of the basket in the picture you can see the gaps. I don’t like how the hardware was silver it didn’t match the black basket so it catches your eye and it sticks up taking up space in the cargo area of the basket which would make it difficult to put some things in it. Overall my mom is happy with it and I guess with this being one of the cheaper roof racks on here you get what you pay for.

looks like it cost twice as much
I have a small car dealership and have bought at least a half a dozen of these safari racks. They are well built and look great on my cars. The rack is pretty easy to assemble - note - put the little rubber end covers on all the open tubes before you slide it all together. also - pay attention to how the sheet metal covers go on or you will be doing it all twice.

Solid buy for the low price point
I read the reviews and went with others advice to wrap electrical tape around the male ends of the connections between the different sections of the rack to provide a little bit of seal. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it came with nylon nuts as I wasn’t sure based on past reviews (looks like they read the reviews and upgraded the hardware to nylon. Wasn’t sure if it would look big enough on our Suburban but it looks just fine. I left it on for about a month I’m So Cal summer weather. A trip up the foggy coastline did show a tiny bit of rust on the heads of the bolts but nothing a little dap of spray paint can’t handle. It won’t hold hundreds of pounds and probably is not best suited for heavy off-road but for weekend family trips here and there, you can’t beat it for the price. I loaded it with a big storage bin, a full-size collapsible BBQ and a few duffle bags packed full of clothes, tied everything down directly to the rack and all was great at fast lane speeds in the highway.
