Tastes almost as good as pine nuts after soaking in cool water for only 1 hour
Experts had warned me about the bitter taste of fenugreek seeds. Thus, I was pleasantly surprised that the bitter aftertaste is difficult to notice. It's not necessary to have these seeds sprout because they taste almost as good as nuts. [Walnuts, pecans, and almonds have a slight, bitter aftertaste too]. None of the fenugreek seeds that I received sprouted. However, I got the feeling that they were of high quality because they were sent in a large, metallic (aluminum) ziploc bag. When I opened the ziploc bag, it had a very nice smell that reminded me of curry powder. This product has only 1 defect: A substantial amount of extremely fine, black sand [not edible] settles to the bottom of the ziploc bag or to the bottom of your cup, making it difficult to eat the seeds at the very bottom of each cup. Product of Egypt.According to scientific studies, fenugreek seeds, fenugreek sprouts, fenugreek tea, fenugreek capsules, and dried fenugreek leaves prevent cancer, prevent heart disease, prevent stroke, prevent and treat diabetes, prevent bone loss, build muscle strength (especially in legs), burn away body fat, increase mother's milk production, and may also be useful in preventing and treating respiratory ailments, stomach ailments, and brain ailments. To lower high blood pressure, swallow high phospholipid krill oil softgels in addition to eating fenugreek. However, the experts warn of the following possible disadvantages: Bitter taste, body odor, flatulence, and diarrhea. [I didn't experience any of these side effects after eating a moderately large quantity of these seeds].Caution: Eating the hard fenugreek seeds without soaking them in water for at least 50 minutes may damage dental fillings and teeth. Warning: Fenugreek may increase the size of a girl's breasts. Many men will only marry flat-chested girls. DANGER: Pregnant women should not eat or drink fenugreek because it definitely increases the risk of preterm delivery. Babies born prematurely tend to be not as healthy and not as smart as normal babies. However, it's perfectly OK to use fenugreek to increase beast milk production after giving birth.

This is a generic comment on all of the herbal products I bought from Star West botanicals. I appreciate the good product that you are putting out in the opportunity to use these organic herbs to create things that work to heal my body. Thank you for providing it.

Don't chew the seeds. They are very hard---but will soften in a few minutes. I swallow them whole.
I like the maple flavor. I use as a digestive aid---one quarter teaspoon.

Ahhhhh Fenugreek
I was a little skittish to order these after reading the negative comments, but these are great. The seeds themselves are about the size of tomato seeds, the fragrance is wonderful--similar to fennel--and they plumped up very nicely (they are also sprouting very well). Fenugreek is a valuable herb to have on hand. There are many helpful articles online about the benefits of eating it. Here's just one[...] Also look up "Healthy Preparedness" on YouTube: "Claudia" does a wonderful presentation on the uses for fenugreek, including mixing it into her bulk sprouting seeds.Anyway, I'm quite happy with this product.

Really helped with my Ulcer
I started to feel an ulcer coming on and decided to nip in the bud with natural remedies rather than medication. I purchased fenugreek seed after doing some research on the internet. Using the seeds to make a tea that I drink every day. I boil 1 cup of water and add 1 tsp of seed and let it steep for 5 minutes and then strain. It has a pleasant taste and in combination with bananas it seems to have helped. I'm now drinking the tea as a preventative. Plus, it is believed that the properties in the seed reduce fatty tissues and therefore aid in weight loss which is a side effect I wouldn't mind at all.
