Perfect!
This extra thin dressing is exactly what the dermatologist dressed my post surgical wound with and instructed me to purchase. This is the only place I found it. Thank you for making it available!

Skin graft donor site
I recently had skin graft surgery and was having horrible difficulty with my donor site wound. I had been given petroleum mesh dressings at the Dr office but I was painfully having to rip them off every day, almost like my new skin was trying to fuse with the mesh. Brought tears to my eyes to clean the would every day due to the painful removal of the mesh.So I was reading online and this type of dressing was recommended. So I read Amazon reviews for this product, specifically ones that mentioned road rash, and the dressings couldn't get here fast enough!!!!My pain has significantly decreased at the donor site, and I attribute this to the fact that my skin (or lack thereof) isn't sticking to the pad. I hope this will decrease healing/regeneration time. Last night I was able to finally get some sleep since surgery a week ago due to pain reduction. I wish the doctor could have told me about these products before I was so desperate.I'll update my review when healing has moved along.UPDATE: okay so it's been a while but I forgot to report back. These types of dressings are amazing for light exuding wounds. My donor site healed pretty quickly, but most importantly the pain reduction was awesome after everything I'd been through.Since my initial review I have kept some hydrocolloid dressings around just in case... And actually my dog has a wound from a benign cyst on her neck she scratched open. Hydrocolloid dressings are working when nothing else would. So my main point i guess, is if you need skin regrowth especially, hydrocolloid dressings are dope and I found these to be affordable and effective at the time of purchase.

Works well
I purchased these for my elderly father. It has prevented him from getting bedsores. it act as a protection over the area of skin that has broken down. I have purchased patches several times.

Can actuality be used for IV/port dressings and give a view of the catherter/needle
With a patient with a port while the port is accessed it needs to be covered/sealed and normally something like tegaderm is used however the patient has very sensitive skin and over the past year of constant access the patient develops skin eruptions/ICD when a film dressing is used more than 2 weeks. Its been managed by using different brands as the adhesive seems to differ from brand to brand and so alternating does seem to prove useful, however the last dressing change caused a very sudden and large ICD with some weeping and we were desperate for a dressing that would allow the area around the port to heal, while also remaining sealed and sterile as it was over the site of the needle accessing the port. colloidal dressings were suggested by dermatology but most are thickly padded and there is no view through to that access site because of that and most were of an island type with a pad in the center and an adhesive edging which was not always good at adhering. Came across these and ordered them and they have worked well, they have allowed the skin to heal and while the view of the port is not a clear as film it is good enough that we can observer the access. Film dressings only require a dressing change of 7 days while using the dressings with pads required a 4 day redressing because of the lack of observation and the fact that the dressing adhesive would come loosen in that time. These we have been able to go back to a 7 day dressing change.

Kept wound dry when showering.
Works good on smooth surfaces. I used it to keep wound dry when showering. The corner that was on the part of my wrist that meets my hand and bends every time I use my hand, peeled a little. Added a little piece of gauze over scabs so they didn't get mushy. Kept wound clean, dry, and allowed wound to heal. When you want to take it off, it peels off easily without taking scabs with it, if peeled gently from outside edges inward. Did tug on arm hairs a little, but worth it for the result achieved. Would buy again.

Good, but the regular (non-thin) Convatec DuoDerm dressings are the best you can get.
While they work better than most similar items, the version Convatec Duoderm CGF Wound Dressing, 5 Count 4x4 10cm x 10cm is the best of the best., The only reason I can see using these instead of the superior Convatec Duoderm CGF Wound Dressing, 5 Count 4x4 10cm x 10cm version is either cosmetic or cost. For any significant wound, especially those sensitive to pressure, caused by pressure, or is draining (producing a serous drainage that is clear with yellowish hue) the regular ones are the only one to use. The regular ones also protect and stabilize the wound so that it is hurt less and is less irritating to the wound when you bump it into something or it is aggravated by tensions on it from motion.Summary: While these are less expensive and more cosmetically appealing, only use these for more superficial wounds that are not draining. The better alternative, especially for any post-skin cancer treatment/biopsy, pressure sores/ulcers wounds get the regular ones DUODERM CGF 4x4, Box of 5, 187660. They are well worth the cost, especially when you take into account that you only need 1 every 5-7 days and they cut the healing time by almost half.
