The Parents: An utterly gripping psychological suspense thriller

Fantastic!!
I love this author's books and this didn't disappoint! I couldn't put it down!!I love everything about folklore, black cats, witches and astrology... and so nice to know that May babies are the happiest (being one of them!). I may have to go and stay in Tenterden soon as well... it sounds like a very interesting place to stay! I very much enjoyed all the above aspects of the book and I especially loved Patti and Alex's characters. Of the two I would say Patti in particular. I also really enjoyed the football! I have never read a book like this that included a football team and this made it really quite unique... so bravo Claire! (I do hope Sheila manages to get what she wanted going again!). I found myself cheering the team on towards the end and being someone who supports a conference league team I resonated with standing in the cold on an autumnal day for not a massively good result... I take my hat off to all the parents who do this week in week out!! The more I read the more I couldn't put it down... think my family might need their breakfast sorting at some point.. if they are still actually here?!If you want a book that has some real 'girl power', that takes a good look at teenage/adult emotion as well as throwing in a good dollop of football, mystery and suspense this is for you! Enjoy!

Another excellent read from Claire Seeber
I always look forward to Claire Seeber's books - partly because they are always very well written and a pleasure to read but also gripping and relevant. Who is the vlogger causing hurt and chaos? How and why are ambitious parents causing more trouble than their children? Why are the neighbouring woods so alarming?I thought The Parents was one of her best and raced through it wanting to know what was going to happen next!

Not too footbally!
I surprised myself by buying this because I absolutely loathe football (and pushy parents), but something about the blurb drew me to it. Also, I've loved all of Claire Seeber's books. This was more about village life and the politics of parenting in a close knit community, with a bit of a supernatural element thrown in. The other thing that's a bit off-putting is the list of characters at the beginning (there are quite a few), but they are so well described and believable that it's not a problem remembering them. Really enjoyed this book.

Un-putdownable
Another great book from Claire. I couldn't put it down and it had me gripped from the start. A real page turner, and it wasn't the ending I expected, so a bit of a plot twist for me as well. Hurry up and write the next book Claire!

Fantastic Read!!!!
I love all of Claire Seeber's books and this one did not disappoint. Great story and great characters. Kept me reading and I did not want to put it down. Some proper laugh out loud moments for me. I had sympathy and also dislike for some of the characters, well written and I can't wait for Claire's next book!

Enjoyable read
I would not class this book as a psychological thriller. I felt that I was in the middle of Midsommer Murder & expected Miss Marple to arrive.Saying that I did enjoy the book very much.

Hit the spot!
I always enjoy Claire Seeber’s books - current, well written, unexpectedly funny, characters that are like people I know, and a plot that keeps me guessing and interested. Great to read something that connects with my stage of life, especially parenting a football mad son!
