Edit: I was so excited and this worked ok for the end of my period it was the only disc that I didn't have to fight with go get in but now that I started a new cycle I'm starting to think it's not I'm not sure why this is happening because I was pretty sure it was the one. However it is now giving me monster cramps and is not holding more than an hour then leaking. I know it is the right size because I also bought some obscure off brand that is just barely bigger than this and it fits perfectly. I think what is happening is because the bowl part of it is too soft and folds up super easy and I think my cervix is dropping into it and the ring around it is pressing on my cervix. If you got the small and this is happening the one that I got that is perfect is almost identical to the small saalt disc. I think I just needed that grove to hold it off my cervix because holy wow the cramps from this in the beginning of a cycleOriginal: I've tried so many discs and I was to the point where I thought I was going to have to give up and use cups and dump them every couple hours. I have a heavy flow but an extremely low cervix like almost alarmingly low I've had 3 kids and I'm assuming that's probably why. Cups have always sat wierd with me but sinse my last baby I cant use the small cups because they leak and I cant use the large cups because they sat so low that the bottom of the cup itself not the stem the actual cup would stick out when I used the restroom. This actually put pressure and would stop the flow and I would have to take it out to urinate. The disposable discs worked ok but I think it was because they were so stiff that it was way jammed in there, to the point of not auto dumping. I started off with Ziggy which was way way too big, it is about the same size as the disposable but too soft and wouldn't stay so I went for stiffer and smaller and it would auto dump but would actually come partially out pinched and block the urine flow and it never went back on its own I had to retuck. So I went smaller and softer and this caused a lot of leaking during intimacy and on my heavy flow days. So I found this the lumma short is the smallest one I could find and it was awesome when I put it in because it is stiff enough that I didn't need lube and went right under my cervix no fight so far I haven't had any leaks. And it is so comfortable it is nice to have a disc that doesn't push on my bladder or block pee. Or pinch my urethra. I am going to give t a couple months and if it still works this wonderfully I am going to buy another one.

This genuinely changed my life. I'm actually excited for my next period because it's so novel and fun to be able to do things again! I have the Paragard IUD (and love it), but my periods are really heavy and got dramatically heavier in my 30s. A cup isn't an option due to the suction with my IUD, and specialty heavy-duty tampons, pads, and Thinx panties were not cutting it anymore. At best I could get 40-45 minutes before massively bleeding through my clothes and whatever I was sitting on - which isn't exactly tenable if you need to do literally anything other than sit in your house with a timer going. I had a three-day work conference, 9+ hours a day, and had NO IDEA how I was going to manage it needing to leave every 30 minutes. I finally sent a message to my doctor asking how many tampons I could safely use at once, and she wrote back and recommended trying a disc. I was dubious because I'd tried the disposable SoftDiscs before and found them really uncomfortable and ineffective, but I felt like I was out of options.Enter the Lumma: I slept on crisp white hotel sheets every night, sat through hours of meetings, took the hotel stairs regularly and walked several miles every night exploring the city I was in, and didn't accidentally bleed on a single thing even once. Not ONCE. LIFE-CHANGING. There is no suction, so it felt really safe with my IUD, which was a high priority for me. Once it was in I couldn't feel it at all. I'm not sure if this was related to the disc or just a weird month, but while using it, I had fewer spikes of really intense cramps and more of a low-level ache than I'm used to (honestly hoping it is related - I'd take 3/10 pain for a couple hours over 10/10 pain randomly throughout the day). I can't recommend this enough; I feel like it's opened so many doors for me to be able to do things on my period again without fear! Plus it's cute - I love the tie-dye look.The only con I can possibly think of is that a small part of me is tempted to try to measure how much I actually bleed now that I'm literally collecting it in a cup. Have resisted the urge so far...

I am new to reusable menstrual products and this is my first reusable disc. I’ve tried disposable discs and they felt too big to insert and weren’t as flexible as these. It didn’t take me long to figure out how to insert Lumma and removal was not as messy as I imagined. I even changed at work in a public restroom and didn’t have an issue. I purchased a collapsible cup to rinse it for when I wasn’t at home. After rinsing I dried off with toilet paper and reinserted. I think the first time I used it, there was a bit of leakage but I wore a liner as well. Once I figured it out I didn’t have any leaks and wore it to bed and woke up without leaks. I went on a long walk and couldn’t feel it. At times I could feel the string but it wasn’t irritating or anything and I think it can be trimmed. I may switch to only using menstrual discs. I’ve tried a cup and it felt bulky and was hard to insert and remove because the suction was too strong. These discs slide in and out with ease because they do not rely on suction. I was also sure to figure out which size to use which may have added to my success. I got the medium and that worked for my heavy days and down to my light days. I brought a cup/disc wash to use in between cycles and I can sanitize it as well. I’m happy with my purchase and this will be more cost effective than disposable products. I wish these were popular growing up and that I had found these sooner.Update: I still use this disc. However, a couple of times my period has been heavy on the second day and I have bled through my underwear and through my pants. Luckily I caught it early and carry an extra pair of underwear and I was able to get the spot on my pants out before I bled everywhere. So if you’re flow is heavy, you could wear panty liners just in case and dump out the blood and rinse/wash the disc more frequently during your cycle.
