The Cat: Or, How I Lost Eternity Hardcover – Illustrated, September 28, 2007

I just didn't get it. The story is about a girl struggling with being mean or kind. The.cat, who talks, is mean and she eventually decides his friendship is not worth her time. I did not understand the eternity part.I don't think this should be considered a children's book. I don't think children will understand it and will find it boring. Reminds me of books my high school English teacher made me read.I need someone to explain it to me. I read it three times and am still confused. Perhaps I'm searching for more than is there.

"The Cat: Or, How I Lost Eternity" is a beautiful book about a child who is coming to terms with ethics in her life. It is not a book for every child. A reflective, intellectual child could gain much from this special and unique story.
