Eye to Eye: Photographs by Vivian Maier Hardcover – July 8, 2014

Great pictures. I like street photography and to me this book is all about it.

Vivian Maier, had such a eye for making the ordinary street life make so extraordinary, she has rounded out my eyes for catching street scenes too.

She has great stuff. Amazing woman with great courage to photo many strangers. I have all her published work.

We saw the very interesting documentary about the artist, which featured some of her pictures. The photos selected for the book, however, were not as interesting as those shown in the movie.

If you have seen the documentary on "Finding Vivian Maier" you will love this book. Beautiful photos.

I'm bias as I enjoy Vivian Maier's work. Having lived during those decades, she captured the day to day life of people from all walks of life.

Beautiful Book. Love Vivian Maier ! French thing! Beautiful Book. She lives a few blocks from where I live... Took pics from her building. Such an enigma!

An honest insight into the brilliantly talented mind of a street-photographer who, sadly, chose to keep her work to herself until she died.

Disappointed. Not recommended. John Maloofs books on Vivian Maier are 100x better. I think this is probably partly because he had thousands more to choose from and also he did a better job with processing each photo and I love their arrangement in Jahn Maloof's books of Vivian Maier.

Conoscevo la storia di Vivian Maier e avevo già visto diverse sue fotografie. Questo libro presenta una parte del suo lavoro rimasto sconosciuto sino al ritrovamento dei suoi negativi, di cui forse non aveva mai visto una stampa. Uno sguardo particolare, il suo, sulla gente incontrata per caso una sola volta. I suoi ritratti si possono accostare, per intensità e naturalezza, a quelli di Dorothea Lange di 20-30 prima ma mentre la visione della Lange si può definire da “reporter giornalistica”, lo sguardo di Vivian Maier è una sorta di diario visivo del quotidiano urbano. Comunque sorprendente.

Se vuoi stare faccia a faccia con un enigma questo libro fa per te. Su Vivian Maier non è il primo libro che ho preso ma sicuramente interessante.
