Plano 3-Tray Tackle Box with Dual Top Access, Dark Green Metallic/Off White, Premium Tackle Storage

I've been using this tackle box for a little while now, and it's been a great upgrade from my old setup. I was previously carrying a backpack along with a smaller tackle box, and this holds everything in one place with room to spare. The three trays make it easy to keep everything organized, and the deeper bottom compartment fits my larger items without feeling cramped. The box itself feels sturdy, and the latch closes securely. The only minor issue I've noticed is that it can occasionally stick a little when opening, but I also have several heavier weights stored inside, so that may be contributing to it. It hasn't been enough of an issue to take away from the overall experience. Overall, it's a well-built tackle box with plenty of storage, and it's made organizing my gear much easier. I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking to consolidate your fishing equipment into one durable box.

As soon as I opened it up, I appreciated how the trays lift smoothly and give a full view of what’s inside without feeling flimsy. The dual top access is especially handy—I could grab small essentials like hooks or bobbers without having to open the whole box, which is a real time-saver on the water. The build feels sturdy yet lightweight, and the dark green metallic finish with off-white accents gives it a clean, classic look. With three trays and a spacious bottom compartment, there’s plenty of room for lures, weights, tools, and odds and ends. If I had to nitpick, it’s a bit on the larger side, so carrying it around for longer distances might not be ideal. But for car-to-boat or dockside fishing, it’s perfect. Bottom line: A dependable, roomy tackle box with a thoughtful layout and classic design—ideal for keeping gear organized and ready for action.

I’ve owned a few Plano cases over the years for different hobbies, from rifle cases to camera gear, and they’ve always held up well. This is my first Plano 3-Tray Tackle Box, and so far I’m really happy with it. First Thoughts: Right out of the box, the tackle box feels solid and well put together. The plastic doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy, and the overall finish is nice. I also really like the green and tan color combination because it gives it that classic tackle box look. Size & Weight: One thing I noticed right away is that it’s more compact than some other tackle boxes I looked at, which I actually prefer. It’s lightweight, easy to carry, and doesn’t feel oversized. Storage & Usefulness: I can see this working well for somebody just getting into fishing or even someone who already has a lot of gear. There’s a good amount of storage space without the box becoming too bulky, which is a nice balance. Overall, this feels like one of those hidden gems where you get quality, practicality, and a bargain all in one. It honestly feels like the kind of tackle box that could last a lifetime.

I have three different tackle box/caboodle storage containers. For this one, I use it as my first-aid kit. It fits more stuff than one would think. It’s larger than I thought it would be. The downfall (which is the reason I give a 4 star vs 5 star rating) is that the three trays rest on a small piece of plastic ( located in the top cover, once it is opened). Because the plastic piece is so small, sometimes the three trays tip off of it. It seems like this could be fixed with a little adjustment on the manufacturing side. Besides it being a little tipsy, I really like it. (Pictures Below). Oh, also, the two little pop-open slots on the top of the box, pop open very easily, too easily. They almost don’t stay shut. I have another tackle box that has two trays and looks identical except for it is made from a different company (I think “Options”). The two-tray one that is way more sturdy. I think it’s a stronger plastic material too. The two slots on the top of the box, latch up very sturdily. I use that one to store all of my make-up. I love having my make-up in it for traveling. It’s so easy and convenient to use especially if you are stuck in a small bathroom. It’s nice to see everything you use and be able to quickly access it. (Picture below). Note, I only have a portion of my make-up in there. It fits a whole lot more. Then I also have a one-tier actual caboodle (pictured below) that I use to put all of my nail manicure materials in. I’ve had this caboodle for 20+ years and it is still like brand new. It’s a great brand. It’s sturdy and durable. These containers are so extremely handy and a great way to get organized. I think I like this tackle box as a first-aid container more than the actual first-aid containers made specifically for the purpose. Using this product that has so many slots, makes it easy to find what you need versus digging.

Great size! All round box for all your fishing tackle. Good value. Light weight construction but tough enough for all fishing environments.

Bought this for increased storage over our 2 drawer Plano. This is larger and offers more storage space obviously and that was nice for our pond fishing trips. However, the quality is sub-par with hinges/arms unsuitable for any kind of serious use. The drawer catches that keeps the box from tipping backwards missed there landing stub by a 1/2" or so. I was just going to prop something under the cover but luckily I had some leftovers around the shop, so I just fixed it. Overall, yes it does provide ample storage and will fit our needs as it will only get moved about 40' from our truck to the spot we fish. However if you plan on using this for heavy duty fishing and getting bounced around some possibly. I would suggest you look at other brands/models. Have provided a pic of the required repair I made for functionality.
