I do wish the latch was stronger. Also the box seems very well made but a little thin its lightweight which is terrific but it also feels like it could be cracked or broken easily in wrong situation. I basically use it for storing my gel pens and chalk marker for my drawing so hoping it will be safe like thos lol. Is just deep enough to hold quite a few rows of pens one on top of the other I can sort them out drop ones in the top that need refills or that have just been refilled has just enough room to completely separate them, if I need to when I'm drawing. If I'm going to be using a specific color a lot more than any others, I can set it on the top or just separate them for all the others. Also it's not so deep that you can't find the colors you have on the bottom of a group of pens doesn't take much to be able to find what you're looking for which is a big plus for me. Especially if I'm switching colors every 2 to 3 minutes which I actually do do a lot. So far it's turned out just about perfect for me and for what I needed it for great great pen storage and markers and paint brushes even or room the throw-in a handful of pens and a couple of notebooks if you're leaving and want to have something with you to write their draw later on somewhere else.

I wanted a box large enough to keep on the bathroom counter for odds and ends but not so large that it takes up the whole counter. This box was larger than I expected but not too large. I began work on it yesterday and think that, yes, it’s a bit lightweight, but for my purpose I don’t think it’s too lightweight. If your needs are for a sturdy box then I think this won’t be for you, but if you are using it for holding items that aren’t very heavy or you won’t be moving it around much, it should be fine. The box is smooth and would be fine for staining or painting or, in my case, decoupage. The hinges aren’t heavy duty but they’re strong enough for the box. I could imagine the clasp might break or bend with a lot of use, but that could be dealt with with not too much effort. All in all I would probably buy this product again. I think I would prefer rounded edges but that’s my preference after the fact and has no bearing on the boxes I just bought.

The sides of the box weren't as sanded as I'd like on the edges, but 3 coats of varnish covered that issue up, mostly. The lid and the box edges didn't meet up exactly on the ends, but not bad enough to return. At any rate, I made a beautiful present for a friend out of it, woodburns nicely. If I had wanted better quality, I'd have bought a better grade of wood box. I just wanted something I could make look nice to put a birthday present in. This wood will seriously suck up some stain and varnish, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Got a beautiful color that way. If I buy another one, I'll just use a better grade of varnish, and use high gloss.

Because of the low price, I wasn't expecting much from this box, but I am very pleasantly surprised by how nice it is!! It arrived in perfect condition, which is also surprising, considering Amazon decided to ship it in a padded envelope. I can't wait to put a finish on it. Overall, I am very happy with this box!!

Just received my Darice 11.5 X 8.5 wood purse box. Great delivery time ( Sunday). Workmanship really good. A little thin on the wood but gets the job done. The bottom dimensions: 10 1/2 X 1 13/16, 1 3/8' deep. Top 7/8' deep. The hinges are a bit flimsy but are aligned and fit well. Surfaces are well sanded and smooth. All and all a good product for the price. Thinking about staining and coating. Bought for a storage box. Have not put in the dividers etc. Probably going to buy 2 more for my work station table. Good product.

The item over all looks good, it is however slightly damaged (small chip on top edge of the box cover). It is very light weight, which is great, but it does feel a little un-sturdy and the hinge to close the box isn't the greatest.Basically, you get what you paid for but it isn't bad at all!

Not the highest quality (the wood is very soft) but you can't beat the price. Box arrived with some dents (see picture) that were noticeable but not a deal killer. After some stain & poly, it makes a nice place to store all the remote controls, a pen, and other clutter that gets in the way.

I ordered two an one of them came with a goofed up corner, but for small memento storage, they work well.I'm going to eventually paint mine and add some interior padding.

its pretty much a dollarstore box but abit bigger. does burn easier . its made cheaply for sure .
