I don't normally write reviews, but I read so many for this project, that I want to help others. I repainted an old bedroom set that was formerly off-white and was beginning to yellow. I debated between using Rustoleum Furniture Transformations and Beyond Paint. I ultimately decided on Beyond Paint because it was marketed as being a one step solution with no need for multiple steps, where with the Rustoleum kit, multiple steps were required. Also, Rustoleum was a bit more expensive for my project as I would need 2 kits. I chose pewter as the color and am glad I did. The color is rich, bold, and just what I was looking for. The paint is thick, but glides well with a roller, not as smooth with a paintbrush, so crevices were challenging. I was so happy with the results until I went to put the hardware back on. My fingernail literally grazed the surface of the paint and removed it clear down to the white color! This was after I let it sit for over a week, so it should have had more than enough dry time. I followed the directions exactly, including prepping the surfaces with the recommended product, Simple Green. Obviously, I needed this paint job to be more durable and I had no choice but to use a sealer/protective coat. Needless to say, this added to the cost, added more steps, and resulted in the finish being slightly shiny, which was not the look I was going for (even using matte sealer). The sealer also amplified every imperfect brush stroke. This project was just an old furniture set, so I'm not too upset, but if this was a bigger, higher stakes project like cabinetry, I would be upset. I don't feel this product is as durable as it claims to be. If you are considering this product, be prepared to possibly need a sealer or additional steps to make the final result more durable.

I received the wrong color paint, but because this paint is so expensive, I chose to just switch up my kitchen colors instead of going through the hassle of returning and reordering. So far we love the paint... We haven't finished painting yet.Rating 5 stars for the product itself. I'd rate 1 due to receiving wrong color. Let me add.... The box had the correct color listed, but a different color was packaged in the box.

I used both White and Pewter throughout the house.The white took 3-4 coats, while the pewter took only 1-2 coats. Literally used a quarter of pewter paint compared to white.Love that it's self leveling! It is mostly matte with the slightest sheen.As seen in photos, I painted every cabinet in the house. Entry built-in, kitchen, bathrooms and built- in office.I added hardware, which you can find in my other reviews. An extremely budget friendly, but laborious, project! It turned our beautiful, though, and I would do it all over again - except I might use a different brand for the white. Again, the white was trying my patience! Though I realize it's likely because I was covering dark wood. *shrug*All in all, a great choice and investment.
